The first type of plagiarism involves direct copying of paragraph(s) to one’s assignment without proper citation of references, whether it is accidentally or intentionally. Plagiarism in academic would generally resulted a failed grade of assignment, courses, or even dismissed from university. (Academic Punishments., n.d.) Penalty because of plagiarism would let offender being fired or rejected from job position (Institutional Punishments., n.d.). Legally, a considerable fines and jail would occur. If if plagiarist benefited more then US$2500 because of infringement of copyright. Severe punishment of 10 years in prison and USD$250,000 would be charged (Legal Punishments., n.d.).
