1. According to the MBA Oath pgs. 117-124, and the article, “Our Inconsistent Ethical Instincts”, why are we less ethical than we think? (you can use bullet points) In both the MBA Oath and the article, "Our Inconsistent Ethical Instincts", it mentions that many people who are as unethical are not making decisions based on their character. Instead, they are unethical because they made an unethical decision to solve an issue. However, maybe not all decisions are unethical. Chpt. 13 discusses accountability. Have you ever been in a situation where you and your peers, group members, or even siblings or friends have held each other accountable? Please explain. How can accountability be integrated into an organization’s culture? I have been a situation where I have had to hold a group member accountable. A few semesters ago, I was placed in a group project for one of my classes. We have two class periods to finish the assignment and turn it in with all our names on one paper. The professor made it clear that whoever doesn't show up those two class periods will receive a zero as his/her grade for the project. While everyone was there on the first class period, one person (Let's call him Sam) was not there on the second class period. Not only was Sam not there, Sam was also responsible for the last portion of the project. After we found out he was not coming to class, we decided to call his cell phone. Only after calling him did we find out that he didn't even do his part. The group had no choice but to let the professor know. In other words, the organizational culture within the school makes it very hard for anyone tell authorities because the pressure from everyone at the school to keep mouths shut has always existed. The only way of changing the culture was to have outside pressure to hold people accountable for their actions. The students themselves would not be able to change the culture without obtaining outside
