Introduction

There are no shortage of health supplements, treatments, and plans available on the market to help individuals achieve a better level of physical fitness. One of the most common and basic starting points that many choose is the simple act of taking a multivitamin. Multivitamins are used by children, teenagers, adults, and seniors in a variety of different forms. Citizens in the United States alone spend over twelve billion dollars on multivitamins each year.

Ideally, individuals should get the vast majority of these vitamins and minerals from a balanced diet. However due to scheduling constraints and the abundance of unhealthy food choices so many individuals are exposed to, it is sometimes difficult to get the needed amount of nutrients on a daily basis.

Multivitamins attempt to be a convenient solution to this problem by providing a safe and convenient source of many different vitamins and minerals in just one supplement. Multivitamins are meant to help individuals achieve a normal level of nutrition as defined by doctors and scientists. Through proper application of vitamins and minerals from their various sources, better health can be achieved.

While some individuals maintain that there aren’t any real benefits to taking multivitamins, the benefits of multivitamins are most often subtle, and supplement the benefits individuals achieve from good health practices such as eating healthy foods and following to an exercise program.

The benefits of multivitamins aren’t noticed in quick and apparent increases in physical strength, endurance, or a lower body fat percentage. On the contrary, the subtle effects of increased health in terms of skin, teeth, nails, bones, and an improved immune system work together to provide a better level of basic health.

Once the body has had a chance to adjust to these changes, they may not even be noticeable at first. However better health for various parts of the body is always beneficial, and the increased amount of energy an individual will enjoy can allow them to exercise more often with less
