A man once said “things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.” Over time things change and develop till they are not how they were before. After so long if someone does the same event as you, such as going to school, they will experience something completely different. School has changed in a plethora of ways from a parent’s time through school and then their child’s time through. Things have changed in many positive ways and some not so much. People have many hopes and fears for the future of their schools. To begin, when thinking of how school is different for a child today opposed to the previous generation is technology. In previous generations, people needed to obtain information from hardback books and other people. Now with the growth and spread of the internet in the information age anyone can get any information from a device in their pocket. Another change is of the courses taught and how they are taught. Today there is so much more to teach kids and only a limited time to do it. While the school does waste a lot of the precious time on unnecessary required classes they had made attempts. There are many new electives available: computer programming, AP classes, and tech classes to name a few. A downside though is while archaic classes have been cut …show more content…

After twelve years of things change and that holds true to school today. New ideas are being developed often and are being introduced to school system more and more. One example is the change in how the school handles the honors students. Now after so long the school has decided to raise the weight of an honors course from 1 to 1.5. With this change, students will look better to colleges and have a more competitive GPA. A second example is in the elementary school and middle school students are taught subjects such as math in a vastly different way than just five ten years
