America has completely changed over the years in many different ways. To start off, women’s rights have drastically changed over the years because women have stood up and spoke their opinion of the matter. After World War 1, America went through some bad times, but eventually got through it in the end. They went through the struggles of who was at President and the debts of the people and the country. Women suffrage first starting being talked about in the early years of colonization. Over the years, it began to grow bigger and bigger in America and was being seen throughout all of the US. The Barre Daily Times states,“Promptly with the passage of the amendment by the Congress the suPrage forces turned their attention to ratification by the necessary three-fourths of the states. More special sessions of the state legislatures were called upon the 19th than upon any other amendment. Wisconsin and Michigan on June 10 were the first states to ratify, quickly followed on June 16 by New York, Kansas, Ohio. America went through the struggles of the President in office, and they seemed to struggle to get him out. Even though he did nothing to help America in his first term, he was elected again for another term. After his second term, the people of America realized that the country needed to change so Hoover was not elected for a third time. “The era was buried by the polls. In the 1930 congressional elections, Democrats made substantial gains, and two years later, Hoover lost his bid for reelection by more than seven million votes” (Kubic). America was getting tired of the fact that the president was doing nothing to help out the people in their struggles.
