There are many things that can cause a significant change in someone’s life. Things can change someone’s life in an instant, while some will slowly change someone’s life over time. Some changes are for the better, and some can be for the worse. In stories like the Outsiders and A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley, we had seen the characters’ lives change throughout the story. Some of the main things that can change someone’s life are moving, a close person to you dying, the people around you, and the events that happen. One of the things that can cause a significant change in someone’s life is moving. If you are moving far enough away that you will have to go to a different school, it will cause even more of a significant change. You would have to leave your friends and family that lived near you. Although it would be sad, many new opportunities would open up and you could start a new life. Moving can be hard for a lot of people. They might have to leave their best

Some can be small, large, take place in a moment, or slowly happen in years. Significant changes and turning points make us who we are. They can make our lives better and make us better people, or they can make our lives worse or take a turn down the wrong path. In most stories, we see the characters change throughout the story. They can start out as the best person ever and turn into a bad one, or start out as a grumpy miser and turn into a kind and loving person. In A Christmas Carol, Scrooge’s life had changed from being a grumpy old man to being a kind hearted fellow. Even Jacob Marley, who had planned the visits to help him become a better person, didn’t expect how good Scrooge would become. He said on page 290, “Scrooge was better than his word. He did it all and infinitely more; and to Tiny Tim, who did not die, he was a second father.” Without significant changes, no one would be who they are
