College students who have the opportunity to attend a university rather than a community college will find that the process of making friends is an easier one. Making friends while being in college has many factors strung a lot with it. Universities present a larger opportunity of creating lasting friendships by providing more of a social life with dorm room living, greater social events and lounges for students to hangout at all through the day. The process of making a friend is a very unique one, and it does not come easy to everyone. Most community colleges don’t invest as much in campus facilities, athletic programs, student clubs and organizations. That makes it more affordable, but many students feel the need to have the college experience, which includes living in student dorms and participating in campus life. Participating in extracurricular activities can help with future careers by students gaining employable soft skills, such as teamwork and communication. With the college experience, it comes with a greater opportunity to meet friends and create lasting memories. Choosing to attend a university and have that financial means, it can be a rewarding experience that would never be forgotten. The bonds that are made living in dorms help create a lifelong attachment to the university experience that many home based students do not have the opportunity to fulfill. These friendships are also the start of your professional network. The dorm mates who individuals meet while attending a university could possibly be the people who may eventually be working at companies where employment for the college student could be started.
