Aesthetic is one of the main concerns of most people these days. Dictionary.com defines aesthetic as pleasing in appearance. Font, as well as, its placement have been a major focal point for marketing. My interest in art drives my interest in becoming an Art Director. Art directors specialize in making these things appealing to see. Art directors are responsible for the visual style and images in magazines, newspapers, product packaging, movie and television productions. Art directors basically sit as the head of an artistic production of a company. This position is not obtained without some previous experience in the artistic process for the company. Art directors need at least a bachelor’s degree in an art or design. Previous work experience as a graphic designer, illustrator, copy editor, or photographer, or in another art or design occupation is also essential. Art Directors are necessary for the creative process for anything produced by a company. The job of art director exists in several creative fields such as: advertising, marketing, publishing, film, television, web design, and video games. Vice requires five or more years of experience to obtain the job as Art Director. So working a job as a designer for Vice and building my way to the Art Director seat is possible.
