Almost every career has many branches or different forms of that job whether it’s higher up or lower. For example: there are multiple things you can do as a cosmetologist. You can do hair, makeup, massages, even remove tattoos. It is the same in the medical field, however, there are so many more. I have been assigned to do this research paper over the careers of a physician, physical therapist, athletic trainer, medical illustrator, and a radiologist. I am not an artsy person by any means. If I did have the skills of an artist I might enjoy to have that job. I know plenty of people that love to draw, and would enjoy this job a lot. However, it’s just not the job for me.

This includes information about insurance, medical history, what the required x-ray is for and where it is going to be taken on the body. Writing in this way is similar to writing a small research paper. You must do research on the patients and there history and what insurance they have. Writing the report is important because the information must be accurate so the patient can be helped as much as possible. If the information about medical history is incorrect it can cause a huge problem for the patient. Attending Florida Southwestern State College to become an x-ray tech is a huge accomplish for me. Because I have a learning disability unfortunately I have to take remedial courses like intermediate algebra, Brush up English, and a reading course the first semester. The good thing about studying Radiology is you can switch to any type of jobs in this field. For my math project, I decided to interview a few coworkers since I plan on going to school to become a radiography technologist. I currently work in the medical field of radiology as a radiology tech assistant. I thought this would be a great way to see how I will be using math in my future career. There are several different modalities in the radiology department from x-ray, mammography, CAT scan and MRI. Since I’m not sure what modality I would like to work in once out of school, I decided to ask a coworker from each modality to see how they use math.
