Almost every career has many branches or different forms of that job whether it’s higher up or lower. For example: there are multiple things you can do as a cosmetologist. You can do hair, makeup, massages, even remove tattoos. It is the same in the medical field, however, there are so many more. I have been assigned to do this research paper over the careers of a physician, physical therapist, athletic trainer, medical illustrator, and a radiologist. A physician is someone who practices medicine and treatment of disease, injury, and other impairments. They also go by a Medical Doctor. I never thought about being a physical therapist, however, I think it’s something I’d be interested in now that I’ve done more research on it. I had to go to physical therapy for two months due to a shoulder injury, and I never had a permanent physical therapist, so I got to meet a lot of new people. I am not an artsy person by any means. If I did have the skills of an artist I might enjoy to have that job. I know plenty of people that love to draw, and would enjoy this job a lot. However, it’s just not the job for me.
Radiologists are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating injuries using medical imaging techniques. They work with imaging such as x-rays, CT scans, MRI’s, and PET scans. To be a radiologist the education is extensive and includes the completion of a bachelor’s degree, medical school,a medical license, and residency. Ball State University, Indiana University, Ivy Tech, University of Southern Indiana, and the University of South Bend are schools in Indiana that offer a major in Radiology.
A radiologist has many daily activities and responsibilities. They have to examine various types of images including x-rays, computer tomography (CT) scans, mammograms, ultrasounds, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.They also operate machinery used to collect these images.
