I am writing concerning the position of Art History: Historical Art and Design - Adjunct Instructor. Since I have written a lot of cover letters lately and been really confused by the fact that I should praise myself in everyone of them, I have decided I will not do so in this one. I know I will be contradicting every professional advice referring cover letters, but I will take a shot writing it from my guts.

Columbus College of Art & Design is a dreamed place to work. I do not think there is much to add to it. Nevertheless, I must say that to see students strive through such high creativity levels must be a bliss. As a professor, that would be one of the most rewarding experiences but to help some others to find the right inspiration and impulse to boost their imagination, confidence, and talent will be the real challenge. Two books; one about art, society and religion; one about cultural history of the 20th Century. Yes, I can count more than 20 academic articles published. Yes, I have a lot of teaching experience (both graduate and undergraduate), over 15 years. Yes, I am a solid e-learning experience designer. Yes, I have this vision about how Art History could generate the best UX designers. Am I proud of it? Of course, I am. But wouldn’t a cover letter be more about what I want to do if you hire me?

I picture myself with those talented students, eager to release their creativity. I will be amused by their faces when I tell them: “Art has never really existed. There only have been us all together or in solitude, always in a time of crisis, always trying to prevail or to vanish, to transcend or to transform.”

I picture myself with those shy ones, those who are afraid to show their incredible talent. I will be thrilled to tell them: “You are not here to create art, but to create yourselves.” I will be proud to tell them that even Michelangelo -at the pick of his fame- confessed: “I am still
