Recommended: Nature of friendship
Friendship is the purest form of love. Only a few people in this world are blessed with true friends, and yes, I am one of those lucky people! *touchwood* ☺ I don 't think I have ever talked about my friends in any of my posts, but today I will do because they are a very special part of my life! ❤ Actually, I didn 't have a lot of friends during my childhood days. I used to talk to everyone in my class, so you can say that all of them were my friends - Still, I didn 't have someone whom I could call my "BFF" or "best friend". My classmates used to live far away from my home so I rarely got a chance to interact with them outside the school. Back then, we didn 't have Internet or WhatsApp and all. Even phone calls used to be really expensive! Everyday, after coming back from school, I felt really lonely and bored because I had no one to play with. You would get it if you 're a single child of your parents and …show more content…
Together, we used to play Antakshari (at that time, we didn 't know a lot of songs and lyrics, so we used to invent our own! ), Kabbaddi, Pitthu and what not! Today 's kids won 't even know what Pitthu is, but it was my most favourite game to play with my BFFs. Everything was so fun when they were besides me! I just recalled a very funny incident which happened on our last Diwali together. We were bursting crackers outside Priya 's house and all of a sudden, she shouted "Happy Holi" really loudly (so loud that even people from the other colony could hear it! ) instead of "Happy Diwali". It was really funny at that time and 10-11 years later, it still is! ☺ Sadly, they had to move to a different city after staying here for about 2 years. Months after they moved out, we kept in touch through phone calls. Somehow, both of us misplaced each others 's number and didn 't have any other way to stay in touch. Yep, that 's how I lost touch with my dearest BFFs, but never forgot them! They were always in my
By definition a friend is a person who provides assistance and support. We have different groups of friends for different purposes in our lives. Although there are many different categories of friends, Marion Winik author of “What are Friends For?” mentions that some of the more common groups consist of the faraway, work, family, and former friends (132). We keep our friends because we value their loyalty, communication, support, and dependability.
And I mean every day. In the summer we were constantly swimming in my pool or running around and giggling. Growing up with you best friend being your neighbor it the best thing in the world it’s a blessing. In summer we would catch fireflies, have fires, play pretend, swim and just run around this list would go on forever!. We were like two peas in a pod.
‘’friend’’ mean? The person who keeps you grounded, the eyes needed when you can't see
My sister and I would often play or hangout with them but my mother was very strict with these visits and would only let us hangout once maybe twice a week. Despite this however life was good to me, I had good friends, lived in a nice house across the street from my elementary school.
My friends are very important to me and without them I do not think I would be where I am today. My second real friendship began in the middle of my freshman year of high school. I had been introduced to someone who later became one of my two best friends, Michelle Zabuska, by someone in my Theater class. Some time later, as a result to a major fight caused by a mutual friend of ours, I realized that I had to be careful with whom I trusted. It was Michelle who pointed out a quote from one of our favorite television shows, Felicity, that I realized she was my true friend in every aspect of the word. I started to look at my...
There are three different types of friends in every friend group: the loyal best friend, the jokester, and the friend who differs from the normality of everyone else. Sitting at the far table in the cafeteria is a small group of friend chatting about the upcoming homework assignment in English. Sara, your loyal best friend, is talking to you about Jason, the boy who has broken your heart more than enough times. Tye, the jokester is telling a story about the previous weekend that has everyone in laughing hard enough for milk to shoot out of their noses. Jax, the friend who is just the right amount of different is silently laughing about the story being told. However, they are all the glue that holds this group together.
Oh seventh grade, what a year to remember. That was actually my favorite year of middle school. At home during this time was a mess and my grades also plummeted but I think going to school took some stress off because I was taking some time to "myself" and forgetting for a while about my home situation. Seventh grade, I would say was a year of friends for me. I had and still to this day have a friend from kindergarten that I considered a best friend. Until a new girl came along, lets call her Patricia. Patricia basically took "my spot" I guess in fifth grade while I was off at my new school for the year. Anyway speeding forward to seventh grade I noticed my best friend, lets call her Amanda, not really talking to me anymore and or passing by
Generally speaking Aristotle first describes friendship with the Greek word philia which is a broader definition than just friendship. Philia includes all kind of friendship that can exist, families, the political community, neighbours and children.
She doesn’t know this, but she changed my life. She was there for me when it seemed like no one else was. When most of my friends were dissolving around me and I just didn’t feel like I could do anything right, she was there, and she made everything seem okay. It didn’t matter that I was inevitably going to graduate with a GPA a tenth of a point lower than I wanted, or that my director told me that he was disappointed in me because I just didn’t seem focused lately, or that my other friends just weren’t talking to me anymore. It didn’t matter because she was there and she made me feel safe. She’s my best friend, and I love her and admire her for so many different reasons.
To begin with, I regretfully drifted away from a lot of my childhood friends. When I came to Canada, I communicated with them at first but then years passed by and I became busy.
My personal definition of "friendship" is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between a person or persons where everyone has some companion to talk to when their in need of one. I would define friends as people whom you can have several types of relations with and feel several emotions for that person. Someone that one might go to in time of need. However, friendships differ between people. For example, the friendship that someone may have between them and their parents would be different than the friendship they might have with someone their age. There are many different friendships that people have. Friendships can exist between best friends, friends, lovers, children, parents, siblings, and many more. All of these differ in some way.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
Friendship is a relationship that all the individuals can create by themselves. Though it is not a god gifted relationship like that of the relationship of a mother, father, sister, brother or any of the other family but still it is one of the best relations an individual can possess. People who have true friends consider themselves as the luckiest individuals on earth.
I met my two best friends through my club and high school teams. The first one, Candace, I met in 8th grade at the club volleyball Halloween party where she was Cookie Monster and I was a zombie volleyball player. We hit it off from there, but we did not become close friends until our first tournament where our moms had planned for us to all share a hotel room. Until then, we had just been teammates, but that first tournament changed my life. We found that we were meant to be best friends and we became inseparable. Her family also had a major impact on my life because they became my second family and I became their second daughter. My second-best friend, Tori, I met during the summer before my 9th grade year. My high school volleyball coach, Putman, introduced us to each other because we were the only freshmen there. While it was awkward at first since we were both new to high school, we very quickly became friends. We were the only two freshmen to make the Junior Varsity team, so we became very comfortable with each other since we were afraid of the upperclassmen. After the highs school season, she joined my travel club team and that is where became the closest we had ever been. I had my two best friends on my club team, and those two girls taught me so much about what it takes to have a healthy friendship. If not for volleyball I would have never met them, and my life would
Growing up in school you have your friends in 1st, then in Jr. High, and then when you get to high school you might not even know or see your friends from 1st grade anymore. For the few people who’s had a friend from 1st grade till college I think that someone they need to hold on to because if they stuck with you through all them year I know they’re there for the right reason and there not just there for a season. As Elizabeth Dunphy says, “It’s the little things that matter, that add up in the end, with the priceless thrilling magic found only in a friend.”
