Because entertainment gives people a feeling of relief and a sense of the world around them, entertainment does not have the capacity to “ruin” society, since our society continues to flourish off of the culture entertainment demonstrates.
Entertainment continues to break the learning barrier benefitting different cultures throughout the world. Programs set in place to learn a new language or teach a basic learning skill not only thrive in one age, but also are seen to have flourished in all ages and continue to do so. ABC Mouse is a program where children can succeed and gain an early start to their education. Children have fun while learning. By remembering past events it ensures our culture will not get lost. One instance can be seen through “The Boy in Striped Pajamas,” a movie that was inspired off of the Holocaust. With movies like this, the people of the world can remember the terrible events of the Holocaust, and remember the lives of thousands of Jews that were brutally murdered. This will further teach people that violence is immoral giving the opposite effect of “ruining” society. Entertainment in the case of the Holocaust is portrayed as being mournful, but that's not all entertainment is meant to be. In the case of Shakespeare plays, entertainment is recognized as being enjoyable while keeping the culture of centuries before alive. Shakespeare plays, through poetry, give the world an insight into what culture was like in his era. His plays display the daily activities, language, and morals that people centuries before us developed on. His plays show us that we obtained some of the same traits people in his time had. Shakespeare plays are not just for one age; people can see his plays at a young age and learn valuable lessons while being amused. This shows that entertainment can be for all ages to help admire the way the world has changed over time, while learning something
