In this study Tan, Lee and Bigman assessed US adults’ beliefs about e-cigarette harms and benefits. In July 2014, they used an online survey to collect data from 527 U.S. adults from a national panel that reported that they were aware of e-cigarettes. The participants were asked to agree, disagree or no opinion to 7 statements about the harms and or benefits of using e-cigarettes. The results of this survey showed that participants that have used an e-cigarettes believe that they cause no harm to their health compared to people who have not used them believe that they do cause harm to their health.
