Do we take too many standardized tests? I agree with the statement we take too many standardized tests. I think this because we spend 20 through 25 hours a year just spent on testing. Students are taking too many tests that should be modified by the government. The government needs to shorten standardized tests. This essay will discuss how we take too many tests that should be modified by the government, the tests should be changed because standardized tests are stressing out students and teachers, this does not mean the tests give us better results and taking standardized tests use up to classroom time.

First this paragraph will be talking about how these tests, stress out students and teachers. Parents choose to take their kids from taking the test. The parents feel the stress is not worth it. Taking over 112 tests in America and many countries have higher results in taking only three of these tests. This proves the more tests we are taking the lower our scores are. Carvalho changed his testing from 300 to 10 tests in his students entire elementary through high school years. Proving quality does not equal quantity. This paragraph tells the readers on how more tests do not equal better results.

Now this paragraph is going to talk about how testing takes up too much class time. 112 tests from prekindergarten to 12th grade that is about nine tests per year.
