Fear is described as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. People live in both physical and metal fear every day. One in ten people develop a fear at some time in their lives. A person suffering from a fear may dwell on the object of his or her fear when it is not even present (Nagel, page 1497). Fear is a funny thing, it can make people weak but also strong, the only difference is the predicament. Everyone has a fear of something in life, even if it is undiscovered. Fear causes anxiety and nervousness with everyday situations. Nobody wants to fail, everybody wishes to succeed in life. The fear of failure can be broken down into many things. Some people are afraid of failing in school, others are afraid of failing at work or even in a relationship. Failing in school can cause an extreme amount of stress especially in a teenager. When completing task in school and putting all the effort then getting back a bad grade it a put a huge damper on things. It causes people to begin to stress and worry that they will never be good enough to submit a complete assignment with a good grade. Students also fear performing in front of the class. For instance, giving an oral report can cause a panic attack for a few different reasons. One being, it is not a fear of having to speak in front of a crowd. The terror stems from the fact that nothing being said is actually important (Bokram page46). Failure in the workplace can also cause a lot of stress on an adult. The importance of submitting the work on time can cause a lot of stress in a work atmosphere. The pressure of a boss or manager impatiently waiting on the work to be sent can also cause fear and anxiety. Many people also fear struggles in a relationship. For example, they believe that everything they put into a relationship will never be enough for their significant
