Do Transcripts Matter? There are many reasons why transcripts do and do not reflect skills inside and outside of the classroom. In my opinion, transcripts do demonstrate who I am as a student. Transcripts help indicate that I am responsible because I work two jobs, have straight A’s, and am involved with outside and school related clubs. Firstly, my transcript reflects my skill sets and abilities by working two jobs. Working as a teenager can be very stressful and hard. Majority of teens might agree that having a job while in high school is tough considering homework and just life in general. While working in school, you have to understand your priorities and make sure your time is being spent wisely. Making time for things is not always easy either. Being in a club takes dedication and hard work. If a student can not dedicate themselves to the club in which they are enlisted in, then it proves that the student is not interested enough in the club or are not mature enough to take on the responsibility of dedicating themselves to that club. Many students could agree with the fact that being involved in extracurricular activities such as a club does hold a large amount of liability. This is so because a student’s main focus should be their grades. If a student does not focus enough on their grades they will eventually start to fail. When a student can focus on their grades and have the motivation and commitment to a club it reveals the level of maturity of the student has. This is significant to that fact that transcripts reflect a student inside and outside of the classroom because it helps imply that I can focus on not only on school work, but being committed to clubs outside of
