In today's society, hunters need to acquire a license in order to legally hunt a deer or other big game animal. This happens when the division of wildlife decides to let you hunt your desired animal. Before they can hand out tags, the state must first decide how many they can give out so they do not hurt the wildlife population if too many of a certain animal are killed. The Division of Wildlife keeps close watch of the population of herds of deer, elk, wolves, bear, and other big game animals. For anything that requires a tag to hunt, it is closely watch by the state to ensure the herds and thriving. On the other hand, coyotes, foxes, and rabbits are not regulated as much. There are seasons just like big game animals but you can get as many as you want in time frames. In these time frames, they can legally be hunted. The number of animals killed depends on the limit that isset in a certain area. If the population of an animal are high, They number of animals that can be killed goes us and vice versa if the number is small. The Division of Wildlife also checks the ponds and lakes to see how many of each type of fish can be cause. They also make a size requirement in order to keep the fish. They kill rats, mice, rabbits, birds, and lizards in the wild. They also kill livestock such as sheep, goats, pigs, and most commonly chickens. They are a big threat to farmers since they kill their animals including dogs and cats. They also help the farmer by killing jackrabbits. Jackrabbits dig holes in the farm fields, these big holes can bread the tractor or even break a horse or cow leg.
