With this in mind, the teacher should remember how to handle challenging behavior and apply positive behavior support. Fourth, the teacher should demonstrate the knowledge and ability to support the movement, mobility, sensory, and specialized health care needs required for students to access classrooms, schools and the community to the fullest extent of their ability and the law. Students with limited mobility will have a specific spot close to the entrance of the classroom. It is essential to have enough room where students can move around and push wheelchairs or other mobility equipment. For instance, having the chairs arranged in small groups can motivate the kids to socialize and work together to develop camaraderie. Additionally, the rewards system will motivate the students to work and finish their task. For example, if the student likes to play computer games, he/she will be excited to finish his/her work because he/she is looking forward to being on the computer at a particular time. Furthermore, the classroom procedures will be useful for managing the student 's’ behavior. If the student knows the classroom rules, he/she will remember to behave because he/she knows there are consequences for inappropriate conduct. Also, the classroom routine and having a timer are very helpful in setting appropriate time to a particular activity. For instance, setting 20 minutes for stations and instructing all students to change locations when the time is over is a good indicator of time management. If the teacher is able to identify the disabilities and the features associated with them then the teacher can tailor the lessons to meet the needs of the students. These may include differentiated instruction and facilitating an inclusive classroom which will see inclusive strategies employed that will cater to the needs of students with learning disabilities. These inclusive strategies can range from individualized learning programs to team and co-teaching. In the classroom I am observing in I have watched how the teacher and the students start and end their day by following different procedures for ex: attendance, portfolios, grades, and class rituals like morning meeting, transitions and end of the day procedures. All of these procedures and rituals contribute to the classroom culture and are parts of instructional practices. So when the students come first in, in the morning they have morning circle where they do attendance, weather, lunch choices, how I feel today chart and much more. Each student has a job during morning circle which rotates every day so not every student has the same job. So attendance is kept and done at morning meeting everyday which is important for the teacher to keep

Today this is a story of actual abuse. The reporting of child abuse in today’s schools is greatly surpassing any recorded evidence from past years. This abuse is causing controversy in schools all over the nation. Alarmingly, the statistics for child abuse in public schools include a population of children who need protection because their inability to protect themselves is even less than the average young student. These children are our mentally and physically challenged students. Mentally disabled students are in the care of institutions meant to nurture and protect them. The people in charge of these students take advantage of their authority to a vast degree. It is universally believed that a teacher’s job is described as one that helps guide children to a successful future. Qualifications for this position include providing a safe, nurturing environment. Acceptable types of discipline are taught to teachers and workplace standards are supposed to be adhered to. A professional, safe classroom allows students to feel comfortable to learn, function, and develop the tools to excel. Families of mentally disabled students should be worry-free knowing that their children are in a safe learning environment.
