I. Introduction
The purpose of the detail design class is to provide a design-build-test-operate experience for the student. The requirements for the project that the students select begin with the requirement that the project have a minimum of three subsystems, chosen as a subset of the subsystems used in the project from preliminary design. In addition, it must have more than one sub-assembly; there must be a subset of the requirements that are test-able (with our campus facilities); it must undergo a vibrations test according to the requirements specified by the chosen launch vehicle; and the structure must be tested to failure.
The design component consists of detailed drawings submitted in the context of the configuration management system defined under the Design folder in the Courses drive. More detail of the design component is given in the Design Components section.
The students are required to build their design. This enables them to understand the manufacturability of their paper concept. It also gives them the opportunity to see if their predictions on the performance of their system are good. The build process provides an opportunity for the students to see clearly what the integration issues are in bringing the various subsystems together.
The test component requires the students to write detailed test plans and to perform them with their design prototype. The project should have various subsystem tests as well as tests at the various phases of integration and finally, a fully integrated functionality test, which shows how the system as a whole operates.
The entire design must be supported by analysis based on work done in previous courses as well as on any new material they must learn for their specific design. The analysis section describes in more detail the types of specific analyses required.
II. Teams and Leader Responsibilities
The teams utilize the entire class and are divided into subsystem teams and an integration team. The integration team is composed of the team leaders from each subsystem team and the project lead is the team leader for this team. Each team must also have a person responsible for all the CAD drawings. The responsibilities of the integration team, project lead, team leads and the CAD person are defined below.
Integration Team:
This team is responsible for the system coming together. They must make sure that all integration issues are addressed early and are passed on to the appropriate team for resolution.
The Team members: They are responsible for the execution of the tasks at hand, they are also responsible for the tracking and reporting on programs to provide transparency and support decisions to adjust team structures and technical directions.
The teams have to meet regularly to discuss its objectives, and sup lays organization with the knowledge and his talent pool and creating work
At first should the terminology be defined. A project is "a unique set of coordinated activities, with a definite start and finishing point, undertaken by an individual or organisation to meet specific objectives within defined, scheduled costs and performance parameters" (BS 6079-1,200:2, Material of Sunderland 2005, page 5). The individual who undertakes the organisa-tion is usually the project manager. This person plays a special role and is supported by his team.
It is well known that the team work is far better than performing a task individually. Such kind of practice plays a very important role in software engineering. A lot of things can be achieved together with the combination of diversified people, as they input different tactics and skills so that the main objective of a certain mission can be accomplished appropriately. Even though teaming up and working for a project is essential and helpful; there exist some issues that could bring interruptions and conflicts in the team.
A team whose club, length and resources fit the assignment desirable leadership and attention to Team-constructing dedication through Team individuals to apprehend and become aware of with each other's dreams the improvement of team desires. These may include: 1. A shared vision a feel of not unusual possession of the assignment at hand and joint responsibility for its achievement co-ordinate effort and planned sharing of obligations, 2. The open alternate of data within the Team, 3. Honesty and frankness among Team members, 4. Effective teamwork can be undermined by a ramification of problems, as an instance: disorganization, terrible conversation, misunderstandings or inadequate strategies for trouble-fixing, and 5. team functioning can be weakened through obstacles confronted by using person individuals within the team, as well as through difficulties
Focus shall be on utilizing pre-production tools while developing the prototypes. Actual material, wherever possible, shall be used in the development of prototypes rather than having substituted parts. Make the prototypes as closer as possible to actual outputs.

Similar to understanding the context of the team, to effectively manage and understand the composition of the team it is important for the team and its members to answer the following questions: “(1) to what extent do individual team members have the technical skills required to complete the task?; (2) to what extent do they have the interpersonal and communication skills required to coordinate their work with others?; (3) to what extent are individual team members committed to the team and motivated to complete the task?; and (4) is the team the right size to successfully complete the task?” (Dyer & Dyer,
A team is defined as a small number of people with complementary skills, who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable (Katzenbach et at., 2003). Spatz (2000) and Katzenbach et al. (2003) added elements such as complementary skills, commitment, common purpose and goals, common approach or strategy and mutual accountability are the important elements for a real team. Hackman (1990) had the comparable definition where team, which form by two or more individuals with different set of skill to work adaptively to achieve a common purpose and goal.
Within the analysis phase a set of goals are needed within the domain. From this there are three perspectives which are taken; the object model the Ronald LeRoi Burback (1998) states “dynamic model, and a functional model. The object model represents the artifacts of the system. The dynamic model represents the interaction between these artifacts represented as events, states, and transitions. The functional model represents the methods of the system from the perspective of data flow.” After the analysis phase the system design phase takes place. Here the system is sub-categorized and appointed tasks and persistent data storage is established, also within this phase the architecture is formed. Teams have been around for many years. It is vital for members who are a part of any team to work together so that their labor is not in vain. A major advantage for working cohesively as teams is greater output and interpersonal skills. The drawback of not working in uniformity can lead to project delays and time constraints. Organizations create teams with the purpose of fulfilling certain obligations and acquiring business success. Roming (1996) states that togetherness and dependability means that members within the team assist each other and the team. Which in turn, yields a better-quality product.

It is important to have the whole team involved and every team member should about the status of the project and identify there responsibility towards the project success.
Design process always starts with identifying and analyzing a problem or requirement and proceeds until the best solution is found. It is about meeting real needs, creating products that people want or require.
Team approach shrinks a large complex issue or opportunity into several smaller parts where it can be solved in parallel. Once fall fragments into individual tasks, and are appointed for individuals to carry out assigned tasks, but where are the systems in place to keep track of the work done by the members of the team mode. This approach will allow the project manager to focus on the project as a whole and ensure that all tasks are being integrated
