A cool breeze rolls off the water-- the kind of breeze that causes the hair to rise on a person’s skin. It tastes fresh and clean. The stifling air filling the surrounding city is thick and heavy, and thus creates a stark contrast past the line of trees along the sand. The great glowing orb of the night pierces the darkness with its light. Clouds gliding past the moon are aglow, as though they house glittering faeries of periwinkle and silver. Resembling a radiant queen, lounging in her fine linens and silky pillows, the moon appears to gently relax on the plush clouds surrounding her. Although dark and muted, a myriad of blues and purples streak the surrounding black of the sky. White stars splatter across the sky like paint. These glittering …show more content…
One could easily confuse heaven as being underwater, as its light appears to pierce through the gentle waves. The shallow waters near the shore are lit up, and tiny fish swim about, unaware that it is not daytime. Were one to attempt a midnight dip, they would find the waters to be frigid and biting against their bare skin.
Long grasses sway in the brisk air, as hair may swirl around a girl’s face as she dances in the wind. Their shadows appear tendril-like, and stretch far along the beach.
Waves gently lick the shore. The full moon in the sky indicates spring tides to be in full effect, meaning that tonight the tide is far lower than average. Damp sand is the evidence left behind from the high tide earlier in the day. However, now the border of the water is some fifteen yards away from the edge of the remnant patch of wet sand. This sand is cold. Walking across it would result in a slight sinking of one’s feet.
White driftwood dots the sand: pale maidens, peacefully sleeping and dressed in gowns of ivory. The fabric folds and dips around their bodies, and their alabaster skin reflects the kiss of the moonlight. The damage the river once wrought on their bodies reveals itself in the gnarled lumps and jagged edges decorating their slumbering forms. For now, they are resting at peace on a bed of soft
The foamy wavelets curled up to her white feet and coiled like serpents about her ankles. She walked out. The water was chill but she walked on. The water was deep, but she lifted her white body and reached out with a long, sweeping stroke. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace.
...nal, mixed, and diurnal. Semidiurnal tides have two high tides and two low tides that are similar in height. Mixed tides have two high and two low tides that differ in height. One high and one low tide characterize diurnal tides. Two tidal phenomena also occur every month due in part to the cycles of the Moon. The Earth, Moon, and Sun are almost in perfect alignment twice a month during the new and full moon. The gravitational pull of the Moon and Sun are combined during this period causing the oceans to bulge more than normal. As a result, the high tides are more elevated and the low tides are lower than usual. These tides, known as spring tides, are very strong. The Sun and Moon are perpendicular to each other during the first and last quarter moon, which causes weaker neap tides. Neap tides are slightly lower high tides and slightly higher low tides.
Stepping onto the white sand, I feel the intense heat and humidity in the air. The vivid heat from the golden sun rays warm my entire body. Salty perspiration is running down my red face, and I am awaiting the moment in which I will run into the cool, refreshing waters of the ocean. I can smell the zestiness of the salt in the air. Glistening waves crash against the shell-covered shoreline, creating an intricate pattern in the dark, wet sand.
as I gaily walk down the shoreline of the Outer Banks. My all time favorite
The sky seems moving while the town is in silence. However, the sky is smooth and the land is rougher in the reality. The darkness of the tree does not belong to either the tone of the sky or the village. It is much closer than the other objects and alone, like the moon. They are both at one of the corner and their colour and shapes are in contrast.
"WE ARE GOING TO BAYSIDE!" Shouted Karen from the top of her lungs to me while I was driving. Karen and I did not know where to go one day, so on a sunny and beautiful day we decided to go to a gorgeous place called Bayside. Bayside is a special place to people who reside in Miami and even tourist because of the numerous things to do there. As soon as someone walks to the open-door marketplace there is always an employee who comes up to a person talking about deals, advertisement, etc. Bayside represents Miami for many reasons such as the wonderful views it has to offer, also by the astonishing meals and the modern Hispanic music/culture that makes all types of people from different nationalities dance.
You watch, horrorstruck, as shadows scuttle beneath the shallow carpet of mist. Like fish in a murky pond; no more than vague shapes, blurry smears. Sometimes you caught glimpses of what they really were. You shut your eyes. These were not things you wanted to
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
When we are stressed out, disappointed, worried, or angry, we tend to find some kind of comfort to release our negative energy. Whether it is an object, person, or place, this type of comfort brings us, even if it is for just a minute, happiness and peace. For me, the beach is where all my problems fly away and where my mind goes to ease. Strolling along the soft brown, warm sand, I can sense the wonders of summer. Around me is the laughter of blithe children excitedly splashing in the crystal blue ocean.
Standing on the beach always gives me an odd, specific, and special feeling. It's like being awestruck. I mean actually struck, too. It hits me like a sharp slap on the cheek, taking my breath away. The idea of the seemingly unending vastness envelops my mind.
The poem starts off with a day nearing its end at twilight and the “traveler hastens toward the town”. The traveler represents a human being going through life. We can be considered travelers since we just come and go with the passing of time. The person here, leaving at twilight, represents the ending of a life as they move on to the next part of the human life cycle. Then time passes and it is night and the sea, with its waves, “efface the footprints in the sand”. The sea represents time, and as the waves slowing move in and out, erasing the footprints the traveler left, it shows how a memory of a person who was once there is slowly washed away. The erasing itself is not harsh, but gentle, like it is shown with the waves and their “soft, white hands”. And finally when morning comes, the town life goes on, but the traveler will never again return to the shore. The average life in the area is portrayed by the “steeds in their stalls”, and it describes how the day returns but not the traveler. Everything around, nature, stays generally the same with the passing of time, but us humans, the traveler, will never be there again after a certain amount of time.
I am in the middle of an ocean. I don't know how I got here, or who I even am. I am on a small boat, wearing tattered clothing. I am covered in cuts bruises and I feel sick to my stomach. It is freezing and I am soaking wet.
Closer and closer to the calm water, I began sinking deeper in the sand. It was comforting, the silence, tranquility, and warmth of the faint sun. There is a slight breeze, warm, but cold and lonely. I could smell the scent of fish blowing through my hair and body. The sun was still fading, slowly but surely the day was almost over. About half of it is gone now. I could see shades of blue, red, purple, and pinkish-yellow. They were mixed with puffy clouds that lined the beginning of the sky and the end of the water. I noticed the darker shades on the bottom of the lower clouds.
Additionally, a strip of wet sand appears peeking out from under the shifting waters, reflecting the vibrancy of the sun and sky in a striking manner. As one moves his or her eyes from the natural scene and onto the hustle and bustle of the shore, he or she will notice that the beach and its inhabitants are almost shadows in their appearance. Indeed, the group of men appear black as night in the presence of the fiery sun. The rough patterns in the sand mix the light and dark hues that are so brilliantly exemplified by the men and the surrounding nature.
and cultural motivations (To enhance knowledge regarding new places, to visit cultural and historical sites, to meet residents) than visitors of Mallorca (Kozak 2002). According to prior studies individuals who consider visiting cultural or historic places as an essential activity during their journey mostly spend less. It was revealed that most of the visitors who prefer to engage in nature based activities were likely to spend more. Other than the travel motive, variables such as trip length, household income, age affect the daily expenditure of nature tourists.(Mehmetoglu 2007). Previous studied have showed that decision to revisit a particular beach is more depend on the overall satisfaction of the tourist. Hence visitors’ perceive image
