As I look into seeking entry into the graduate program of family nurse practice, I ask myself; what are my professional goals? This question has caused me to explore why I am looking to further advance my education as I continue to foster my nursing career. I pursued a career in nursing because I have a passion for helping people. The nursing career helps and gives me the fulfillment of helping those in need. There are different levels in the nursing field , and I want to be well rounded and trained as a family nurse practitioner. This means having the specialized opportunity to prescribe, diagnose, and handle the overall care of patients. Furthermore, it also means having skills in place that will be pertinent and compliant in the vast and diverse healthcare setting. I am an individual who is determined to manage and perform several tasks simultaneously, hence I am fascinated by the freedom and autonomy that nurse practitioners have. I have been very successful in situations that require leadership in my day to day operations on the unit I work.
