Passions are something that every individual has, whether it be hobbies, or careers, etc. The definition of passion is, “a strong and barely controllable emotion.” A passion can be anything from a career as an artist, to raising a family. You have passions as a child up until you die, it is something that is a part of our whole life, it is one of the things that keeps lives positive. As a young child I had a passion for collectable toys/games such as Pokemon cards, Bakugan, Lego Ninjago. I looked forward to playing with these different games with my friends each day. When I was about 9, I discovered the game “Minecraft,” it became a daily thing to play with my friends for the next 5 or 6 years, it was a huge passion of mine for my preteen
For my passion project I made cookies, but not just any cookies, I made cotton candy cookie. There were many ups and a downs while making these cookies, but they all payed off in the end. I learned many things during this passion project. For example I learned why I wanted to make these cookies, I made three of my own recipes and learned some really cool facts!
When I was younger, my favorite game to play was Minecraft. The game was a fun way to express myself and to make decisions like “It’s getting dark, maybe I should start heading home so I can sleep in my bed and avoid the mobs” and that’s most likely why I loved the game so much. I had the opportunity to do whatever I wanted and if I made a mistake the only consequence was to press “respawn” pretty simple right? At the time, yes, but as I matured and became curious, I wondered, could an online game possibly be the definition of life? Can something so many look for yet don’t find be right in the palms of my hands? Could Minecraft, a game that is made for children be the answer to a question asked for centuries?
You may not pay particular attention to it, but the influence it holds over the characters portrayed in it is immense, and it is always there. Napoleon was once described by one of his men on the eve of the Russian campaign as a “slave to his ungovernable passions.” To take the previously discussed concept one step further, it can be argued that the character of Napoleon is an embodiment of passion itself. For you see, passion by its nature is not governed by intellect or reason.

All in all, it is a strong feeling, be it happiness, sadness, anger or liberality. You can be passionate about many things such as love, sports, food, or intimacy. However, it can also mean having a strong yearning for something.
Early in Horney's essay, she defines passion and discusses why it is rare. People do not feel safe putting all of their faith and trust in only one other person. Horney explains that self-preservation is part of human instinct, and people have a fear of losing themselves in their loved one.
Patrick Combs' talks about how important it is for one to admit their interests and what they enjoy doing in life in order to acheive success and determine their passions. Throughout his book I noticed that he often reffers to the importance of following passions and dreams. Combs describes passions as "the greatest treasures you'll ever find." Combs' tells the reader that they must determine what they enjoy doing. Combs' teaches that one can find their intereest by using their "built in compass," and trusting their emotions. Once their interests are found the next step is pinpoint their true aspirations.
Why Minecraft? Minecraft is a sandbox game that combines adventure and creativity. It is gender neutral and is available is multiple formats. These aspects makes it one of the most popular game of this generation. Children as small as two or three begin playing Minecraft on their parents phones.

When loosely defined, passions are any sort of uncontrollable urge which compel both divine beings and humans to act in certain ways. Passions have been around since the beginning of humankind, and are also present among the gods in some ideologies. Depending on the belief system, these urges can be either fervent emotions or attachment to fine objects which can be attractive and distracting. While the definition for passions has this common thread running through all different religions and worldviews, how to deal with these passions differs between cultures.
Passion is defined as “a strong and barely controllable emotion.” It is what gives us motivation and a purpose. With all the division and turmoil in our country and in our world, one of my passions is to reach those that the world has given up on.
Pursuing your passions offers many benefits. The list above is by no means exhaustive. The important point to take away though is that the link between passion, happiness and fulfillment is clear. We all strive to achieve happiness and fulfilment in life. Engaging in activities we feel passionate about will absolutely lead us towards that Promised Land.
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.
Having passion is good for operating a business; however, some critics argue that enthusiasm in business may cause some negative effects and tempt operators to take high risks. In contrast, passion makes operators more focused and dedicated to their business. Taking risks is an inevitable part in doing business; it is passion that gives you courage to take risks and to view failure as a chance to become successful. I believe that everyone has a passion for something. Something that really drives you, that gets you excited and...well its a hard feeling to describe. But my passion is for learning. I think my passion for learning really started a few years ago... one of my best friends, passionate about ecology taught me something about myself. I wanted to learn everything about the world and though he may never realized it... it made a huge impact on my life and i began my quest to get to know as much as i could about life. As corny as it sounds *smile* I cant get enough of philosophy, i cant get enough of learning certain things along the lines of philosophy and ancient civilizations. I believe powerfully in the power of the mind and body.
My strong interests in music, good food, and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom may seem broad, but they are the essentials for my aspiration in life. These passions are the incentives of how to be a happier and more successful person for me to become.
