Many people hear success and it is as if they can taste it, imagining that they are driving their car down the city, going to their million-dollar house, but in reality most people wont be millionaires. Everyone wants to have money and live in a huge house that’s a given, but what is the real definition of being successful? In different countries being successful can be having enough money to pay rent and maybe one meal a day, and most people are so caught up with what society makes everyone think. They make it seem as if you have money all the problems in the world will be solved, and that is not true. Successful is not having all the money in the world, successful is being happy with who you are and being able to support your family. Success has many different definitions for everyone, when we hear the word success something comes up to our minds and we smile because we picture ourselves …show more content…
I remember hearing my teacher tell us that he had a friend that was a lawyer made a good amount of money and even had a nice car and house, but he told us that he hated his job and he would tell him how much he regrets choosing that profession because it wasn’t for him. This made me realize that money wont make me feel successful, what will make me feel successful is doing what I feel is my passion. When I reach my goal of doing what I love as my job I will feel like I really am successful no matter what the money income is. For my parents being successful was the American Dream being able to provide for their family and having a job. I still believe that is being successful, but I have more opportunities that I want to take advantage of. I want to help my parents out because they have worked hard, so that I can have opportunities that they never had. Success can mean many different things, but to me it is having a passion for what I do and I enjoying
Success means to live a life in alignment with what brings us real joy. In my case, “success-joy” comes in many guises. At times, in being persistent with my current dreams, others, investing time and energy in what makes my life shine, and that is, without a doubt, when my life is at service of humanity and when I cultivate happy and healthy close relationships. I tend to define success as a state of being, a constant process of unfolding rather than a place to arrive. It is the journey of getting to know ourselves, in order to fully occupy every aspect of what we are; a forever changing aspiration, a state of being in which we realize that life’s greatest rewards spring from our capacity to relate to adversity in innovative ways. I have also discovered that real success shows up again when we debunk and deconstruct every single stereotype and assumption we have about ourselves. In this way, we feel capable to challenge what is commonly accepted as wisdom and then we have the opportunity to change and integrate our values with greater ones. There is an enormous joy when we feel free to play with the possible new scenarios that our imagination and creativity compelled us to try. A successful state of being is alert and grounded within us with the certainty, that the choices we embark on are in resonance with what we consider is the truth of what we are in that precise
As I continue to grow and mature into a young adult, I have begun to realize that the word “Success” can have many different meanings. Depending on the person you’re discussing it with, they may see it differently than you do. The media and society have convinced us into accepting a misleading meaning of how success should be defined. Many people who are rich and seen as successful are often very stressed out and struggling with everyday life. Although, this is something that society often decides to look past because the rich are perceived to be very content and joyful with the way they are living their lives, almost as if they have nothing to worry about because of their success. When talking about success, people need to take into the account that the definition can have a variety of meanings, not only is success displayed from finances, but somebody could be considered successful for other things they do as well.
To most of us, they say they can spot success at first glance. Generally by the car one drives or how one is dressed. Some might see it by how healthy or how happy one feels. Merriam Webster's Dictionary states that success is “the fact of getting wealth, respect, or fame.” If one where to adopt this definition of success, one might go on to living a life of materialism. This mindset is deceitful and will only reward you with short term happiness, like a drug addict searching for a quick fix. For one to be ultimately successful, one must be able to overcome hardships and possess qualities like integrity, pride and patience which no amount of money in the world could buy. These qualities will make anyone strive in most, if not all the difficult obstacles one must face in life.
Success is a term used by almost every individual person on this green and blue planet that we call Earth. Whether it is parents, college professors, teachers, bosses, co-workers, and inspirational speakers, they all apply this word to everyday life, however what does it truly mean? Success is a noun that, by definition, stands for “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” Although this is the official definition, society has a different definition for the phrase success. Society has defined the phrase success as being wealthy, having quite a few material items, having a stable well-paying job, and a healthy family as a side bonus. There are members of society
To many people, success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But what it really means is more than just that; is having a beautiful and amazing family of two boys and one girl, and having the best wife. Also, success means reaching my goals or dreams, like starting my new manufacturing and insurance business and keep working hard because in order to reach things I must be ready to fall and rise up. But like I said, to obtain where I want to be I’ll first need to finish college having my Bachelor in Accounting and start from zero. I never in my life thought that I was going to come this far because of what I lived when I was a little kid.
Even though you may think you can succeed without a plan, every decision made will either help or hinder success because all actions have consequences and people who take personal responsibility succeed. Success to one person is not always the same to another, we all have our own definitions of success. To some, success may mean money and wealth. To others good health. To one it may mean a great job or doing a job they love. And to another a great family and home life. Whatever our definition of success, it is important to find out what the means to you. What does it truly mean to be successful in the United states and how is it attained? Is one’s level of success dictated by how much wealth that they are able to accumulate over time or does it have more to do with a person’s own satisfaction with their life and accomplishments? These questions have been the topic of many heated debates over recent years. One popular opinion on this matter is that success is directly linked with a hard working attitude, a motivated spirit and a creative mind alone. Along with this reasoning, this perspective also feels that those who cannot gain success, are just not driven enough or make too many excuses for their shortcomings. Another popular perspective is that success is more so
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
Everyone in our family has been working for what they want for their entire lives. My parents both have good paying jobs, that they actually enjoy to do. A result from all of their work, and
One method for success is when people feel happy when they get their first car or first house, luxurious items in general. Money is sometimes a factor for people because of they’re hard work and dedication towards they’re goal or in the classroom and getting they’re degree and releasing the stress from school. The other half is when people love their job and have a good loving family which in their eyes is their success.
Growing up, I often dreamed of everything I could someday achieve. I grew up poor but relatively happy. My parents were young and divorced but both very hard working. They worked long hours to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. I will always be grateful for their hard work however, working all the time left little time for help with school and education was not an emphasis in our household. Neither of my parents graduated high school and they did not understand the work it took to have great grades and be involved in after school programs. Not only did I hold my grades up and participate in drama, choir, a part time job and volunteer opportunities but also helped my younger and brother and sister navigate high school and help them to keep their grades up.
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
All this has determined me to become successful because some day I want to be a psychologist who enjoys helping people every day. I want to have a family of my own and be able to support them with everything I can. I always see how my dad stresses out with his job and how my mom has to stretch money around. I chose to overcome the obstacles now and have an easier life in the
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
