Finding Freedom Freedom. Such a perplexing word. Freedom means to be exempt from all external control and have the power to determine action without restraint. To be free you need to be able to control whatever you do and be able to do it when you want. To have what you want and be who you want to be with. Can we obtain our own freedom without taking someone else's? Personally to be feel free everyone needs to be free. To feel free no one can be trapped behind some wall by dictators. No one can rule us. In reality the only thing that is holding us back is ourselves. We think that freedom can be given to us but that can not be more wrong. We have to fight for our freedom to earn it. Malcom X states, “If you’re not ready to die for it, put the word ‘freedom’ out of it.” Freedom can not be taken lightly. Many of us die while trying to find freedom and that shows just how important it is. Freedom is a vast concept. It's the little things which make us free. We can objectify freedom into something or somewhere we feel unrestricted. You can have more than one freedom, whether it’s reading a book or swimming. Would we still have the same aspirations we had when we were not free? Sometimes the reason we desire to do something is because we can't. If we had it all would we still have the same dreams. Do we want to break our limits because the limits are there? No limitations would be disastrously beautiful. Everyone happy with their own self and free is beautiful. Though, some of us do not have the best intentions and therefore for everyone to be free is not possible. Yes, the truth is hard to admit. Maybe in an altered universe if there was nothing harmful and bad we could all live free and happy. We have to think about all the consequences for freedom because freedom comes at a price.
