After reading and studying the case, I would recommend changing the current sick/vacation policy. The paid time off policy will provide employees with flexible paid time off from work that can be used for vacation, personal, family issues, doctor visits, and other personal activities. Superior goal should be to reduce unscheduled absences for the entire company. Unscheduled absences can lead to a negative impact on the employer's’ behalf. It is important to implement a policy that is fair and provide a sense of relief for employees as they take off work for various reasons.
