The abuse of cultural appropriation offends other races and disrespects their culture. The most heard viral appropriation is between whites and blacks. White people are the main race that uses cultural appropriation to benefit only themselves and for many other reasons. For example, minstrel shows put indigenous, black people, on display and dehumanized them and their culture. Ethnological Expositions dehumanize ethnic groups and their cultures. Bruno’s 24K Magic song was accused of being appropriated. He might not have meant to do it on purpose but the point is that he still profited from the song. Most of people only appreciate cultures because they know they can profit off of them. Finally, people/ethnic groups not only steal cultures but rob themselves.”By idly standing by, we’re robbing ourselves of the chance to break free of the systematic racism that still lives on in our society”(Florio). Even though people see how cultural appropriation effects society, we as a society, still aren’t trying progress to stem away from it. We are not only stealing cultures but robbing ourselves from preventing further systematic and oppressing other ethnic groups. We, as a society, need to prevent systematic racism.
