According to the course syllabus the instructor’s late policy states timely submissions of assignments and meeting established deadlines is essential in the course. The late policy also, states that when unexpected events occur that prevent students from meeting established assignment deadlines they are given three days to turn in their late assignments to the course instructor.Inaddition to this, late assignments face penalties and these penalties deducted points from assignments grade average. The late policy states if an assignment is one day late there will be five points deducted from the total grade average, if an assignment is two days late there will be ten points deducted from the assignments total grade average and if an assignment
Another valuable attribute I obtained after taking this course is the importance of turning assignments in ahead of time! Assignments are due at 11:59 and no late submissions will be graded.
Number one rule in the book is “go to class always.” Many students used to go to school because their parents force them to. However, in college, students have the choice to attend the class or not. Some courses don’t have attending policy, so they won’t count students who where absent. This makes student feel more freely to whether attend class or not. Students usually skip classes because they pretend that they are tired or they want to go to a shopping mall. It is very easy to skip a class and give excuses, such as I was in the hospital, I made an accident, or I need to study for a final exam. After skipping a class, students go and take notes from other students who attended and class and copy them. However, this will affect them in their exams because they won’t get high grade as students who attend classes.
Why Schools Should Continue Starting at Eight Despite popular opinion, to be beneficial, schools should continue on their current schedules, and not start later. Starting schools later can have a variety of positive and negative consequences on students. Schools currently are at a time that gives students enough lesson time to learn subjects, but still have time to relax and take part in other activities after school. Many families depend on the time school starts to have easy transportation to school and work. Starting schools later will take away students time to do activities of their choice such as spend time with their families, socialize with others, and participate in extracurricular activities.
The assessment I chose is called End of course assessment (EOC). The purpose of the EOC Assessments is to measure student achievement in the subject areas of English/Language Arts and Mathematics. The EOC is a criterion-referenced assessments developed specifically for students after they have completed the course. It is a computer-based examination with computer based accommodations. Mrs Brauckmann syllabus and rules are highly recommended to be followed and she has three main important aspects for her class , such as attendance , being on time and late work. Students are to attend school every day and to be participating with the class. When you are absent the student parents must clear the absence with the attendance director.She has more aspects as to not turn in late work. Late work is to only be accepted if absence is extended but you are to come to school that morning to get make up work , you have them remaining three days for make up work to be completed and turned in.Our third aspect is making up quizzes and when a student is absent it is their responsibility to come to school on that remainder day. Don't you hate waking up early in the morning? On school days, students are waking up around six o'clock in the morning just to get ready for school. The average start time for a school in the U.S. is just shy of eight o’clock (Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS). It's just too early for teenage minds to work at full power. Schools should start at least an hour later than that. With the extra hour, student’s health and attendance to classes would improve, as well as their grades and attitudes, and it would be just as good for teens as for the teachers and other staff members. School should start later to both increase attendance rates but to also work out better students and staff.
Researchers believe that the early start times to the school day may negatively affect the internal clocks of students. Studies have shown that most students are not fully awake at such an early hour of the morning. What these people do not realize is that a later start time will push bedtimes to an even later hour. I believe the proposition of a later start time will only further complicate the already chaotic school system.
If you wait until the last minute your work will be done hastily and end up in a poor quality. When you take time to plan out your assignments and put thought into it, teachers will notice your improved work quality. Just the stress alone of rushed assignments create unwanted pressure. In this course I think I should be getting an "exceeding expectations" and here is why. In this class we have had multiple projects, assignments, and in class presentations. As the course has progressed I have grown and learned how to use multiple applications like, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Tinker cad. Using all of these programs I learned how to use them at different points in time to make one big video.
Attendance is a crucial aspect of a student’s education. When a student is tardy or absent, this interferes with them receiving the information given in class. Class introductions that include instructions, objectives, due dates, etc. may be missed if a student is tardy and if a student is absent, they may also get behind on their class work and homework. Communication between teacher and students about the classroom management procedures for these two things are important so that students are informed and are able to take the initiative to gather what they have missed which can help avoid them falling behind.
