Chinese philosopher Confucius said, “Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without”. Music is everywhere and anywhere, in a park, in the car, in a school, even in the shower. Every day kids, teens, and even adults bond over the same music. I have played music almost all of my life and enjoy listening to it as well. Today I will discuss the amazing form of art that we call music. Specifically, I will go over the origin, different genres, and the influence of music on the world and people themselves.First, I will discuss the origin.

Music has many genres they consist of Rock, Hip Hop, Pop and Country. According to https;//insights.spotify.com hip-hop was the most popular genre in the world in July of 2015 All of the genres have something that sets them apart from one another. Origins of Country music can be found in recordings southern Appalachian fiddle players made in the late 1910’s, but historians point to 1927 as the year Victor Records signed Jimmie Rodgers aka The Father of Country music and the Carter family to their label as the true moment country music was born. Famous Country singers include Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash and much more. The history of Rock music isn't cut and dry. Many debate who the first rock singer was and what the very first rock song was, but we can all agree that by the 1950’s Rock music had begun. Well-known artist are Bill Haley, ACDC, The Rolling Stones, Queen and Bon Jovi. On August 11, 1973, in the recreation room of an apartment building in the west Bronx, New york city Hip Hop music was created by Clive Campbell aka the Founding Father of Hip Hop. He began arranging parties and performing his mixed tracks for the people to show off their dance skills. Soon the trend took off and everyone wanted in on it, everywhere people had block parties blasting this new type of music. According to www.dailygood.org research shows that playing music or singing together impacts neuro-chemicals in the brain, which play a role in closeness and connection. This is probably why you feel so happy while singing in the car with your parents or friends. Music also can have an effect on a person's brain. Effectivemusicteaching.com states that music is said to increase your memory. A study was done on two groups of babies. One group was given singing lessons while the other was not. The babies were then taught a preschool activity. Results show that the babies who received singing lessons improved their spatial-temporal skills 34% more than those who did not.
