In the United States about six million people have a concealed carry permit. Everyone of the fifty states allows concealed carry to varying degrees. The states allow concealed guns partly because guns are proven to reduce crime rates by an average of five and two thirds percent(Concealed Guns). Although guns are allowed in all of the states, they are not allowed in most government and school buildings. Qualified adults should be allowed to carry concealed handguns because guns are an effective form of self defense. The state and federal laws should allow concealed handguns carry for personal protection. The laws frequently restrict concealed carry in schools, government buildings, and establishments where alcohol is one of the major revenue generators. The government should allow guns in Schools and federal buildings if the individual meets the qualifications and pass strict tests that are regulated by experienced lawmen. All of the fifty states allow concealed carry but some, such as California and New York, can restrict who carries based on local law men's discrimination (Concealed Guns). All of the states should have to issue concealed carry permits and not be allowed to issues based on lawmen discrimination because of the possibility for unjust discrimination based on race or other such things. There are four categories of state regulations regarding concealed carry. The first is no issue which means the state forbiddes concealed handguns. Since Illinois permitted concealed carry in 2012 there are no states that forbid concealed carry. The only place in The United States that forbids concealed carry is Washington D.C. The state and federal laws about concealed carry should restrict handguns but not prohibit them. Concealed guns are an effective form of self defense as they can saves lives and prevent tragedies. Qualified people should be allowed to carry concealed weapons if they chose. Concealed handguns are effective and should be allowed for qualified adults to carry on most public property.
