The Jetsons and The Flintstones are similar, but yet they have many differences. They are both shows that watched by many. While many may like one show better there are a majority that like them both. In my opinion I think the Jetsons are better but I still like The Flintstones too.

The Jetsons lived in the future up in space. There are flying cars and machines that make breakfast, lunch, and dinner in under five minutes. Spacely, makes gears for anything that needs gears. Mr. Spacely is a small man with a huge temper often yelling at George for small things. He cares a great deal about making lots and lots of money.
The Flintstones
The Flintstones live in prehistoric times (Stone Age). They used their feet to ¨drive¨ their car that was built out of sticks, cement and animal skin. Their house looked somewhat like a cave with a chimney. Everything from curtains to clothes to carpet, was animal skin. They were also often surrounded by dinosaurs even worked with them! Even though they lived in the stone age they were still up to date in the technology because they had a tv.
Compared to The Jetsons the The Flintstones where a blue collar family. Fred Flintstone worked at Slate Rock and Gravel Company as a bronto crane operator. Fred worked on top of a dinosaurs's . Moving a pulley-like system to raise the dinosaurs head up and down, moving rocks from one place to another. In The Jetsons the daughter is around fifteen and the son around five or six. In The Flintstones their kids are toddlers. The son in The Jetsons is usually playing some type of sport and the daughter going to hang-out with her friends or going shopping a lot.
In both shows you can also notice they have a tv. In the 50’s and early 60’s was when tv’s first became popular. It seemed as if they were trying to pitch the idea of tv’s to people. Even though very few can tell The Jetsons aired in color but most tv’s could only be seen in black and white. As seeing that we are on the topic of trying to sell ideas The Flintstones would smoke Winston Cigarettes in order to get people to buy them.
Both shows also had pets that were to act as dogs. The Jetsons had a dog named Astro and The Flintstones had a purple dinosaur named Deeno that acted like a dog. The dog in The Jetsons could talk unlike Deeno, which he couldn’t. The dogs were mostly well trained on account of they sometimes would annoy the fathers/husbands. The families seemed to really enjoy their pets.

This book tells about Maroo and her family, This book tells a lot about how life was like back then. The Andy Griffith Show and I love Lucy have been two of the most watched shows in the history of television aired on CBS. I Love Lucy was a scripted sitcom recorded in front of a live studio audience with multiple cameras to give it better comic energy. It took place in an apartment in New York and her husband was an upcoming Cuban American who sung in a band. Although this was a black and white film, Lucy and Ricardo had colorful personalities. Lucy was always dressed nicely and Ricardo was always in a suit or business like attire. The house was always spotless as she was a housewife and an excellent mother later on. Lucy had a way of getting into trouble but Ricky somehow managed to get them out. She also displayed some traits that women were stereotyped for such as not showing or looking your age, being careless with money, and other secretive things. Television networks used these types of shows to protect themselves from any accusations that they were sending out “Communist messages”, but these shows subsequently influenced a generation into a new way of thinking and living. Families moved in rapid numbers to suburbia and wanted to be just like the Cleavers or the Andersons. The American public would never be the same, always reflecting on the perfection played out nightly on television and setting their goals to reach that level of traditionalism. The Hollywood Blacklisting that followed the Red Scare of the 1950’s forced the media to change in order to survive the scrutinizing committees of the HUAC and various congressional committees that pushed for the social “purging” of America in hopes of searching out the “Reds” which they believed were hiding among them. This change in media came at a time when the public had become extremely receptive to such influences due to the spread of the television and the growth of the middle class who had extra money to spend on luxuries such as going to the movie theatres.

In the winter, the houses would be built in the forest so the wind would be kept away from the house to keep warm. Canoes would be built so they could travel and fish on the water. Snowshoes were made to keep feet warm so they could walk and travel in the snow in the winter. Toboggans were made to carry all of the supplies they had through the snow.
Firstly, there is a difference in time periods. Matty’s story is in the 1790s, while Lisa’s story was futuristic. There is also a difference in character.
