One of the biggest decisions high schoolers may have is whether or not they are going away to college or staying home. Although both types of colleges fulfill the same sole purpose, there are many differences of going to a community college than a four-year college. Not everyone is ready to move out and live on their own at college. There are many differences into a four year college but there is some similarities like the education, the relationship between the student body, and students independents. The education in a University is different than the Community College. The size between a University is almost double then a regular community college so with this being said, class size is a crucial component of the way some students may learn. Students in Universities don’t always get one on one time with the professor. Since a community college tends to be smaller, it is easier to have a small class which will help you gain more one on one times. People tend to think community colleges are less academically serious than a University. As a student in a community college I can vouch that it is just as stressful as if I went away to college. This is because students in Universities live around each other 24/7, that college and everyone in it is practically another "home" to them. In a community college, students will attend their classes for the day and after leave campus. Not all students want too communicate with others unlike at a university you're obligated to make friends since you live at the college with a whole new group of people. Both colleges provide school activities, clubs, sports, etc to try and bring students together. Most students at community colleges dont feel as if that is as necessary as if they went away to college. Getting involved is definitley more effort when you go to a community
