Ms. Gruwell and Lydia have been in situations that have put them in a lot of stress and there are some things that are similar and different to their situations. Ms. Gruwell and Lydia had help from their friends to get them through their problem. Ms. Gruwell had students that showed her that they appreciated her very much, and that they wanted her to teach them for the whole year. At first Ms. Gruwell’s students thought her class was going to be boring and a waste of time, but after a bit, they started to like her class and got very interested in reading books.
