Nowadays, it is not easy to find a successful marriage, but if we want our marriage to work we have to put some effort into the marriage and there will be fewer divorces. A good marriage is based on a solid foundation of respect, some sacrifices, and a good communication. When we compare marriages in our time and our grandparent’s time, we will find lots of differences. Before, marriages used to last longer, but nowadays the rate of divorces is increasing day by day. In my view, Marriage is beautiful and marriage is the only thing that connects people. It is amazing how two people take a vow to live together until they die. For example, men had to do outdoor stuff like pay bills and women had to clean house, cook food, wash clothes, take care of children, etc. Moreover, women were not allowed to disagree with man 's opinions or wear shorts clothes. For instance, women should not talk in front of lots of people and they had to look down when older people were talking with them. In contrast, our time of marriage differs in terms of rules because we have more freedom. Women can work indoors or outdoors, for example, women can do jobs plus housework.
Women have equal rights as men in the family. For example, women can give advice and opinions in a family conversation. In our time, people are more understanding about marriage than before because of education and knowledge. Second, the situation was different in our grandparent’s times of marriage and our times of marriage. In my grandparent’s marriage people were less educated and all they knew was farming. Asia is one of the countries where they scared of neighbor. People from Asia always try to fit in society and not to break any kinds of rules of society. While, being Hindu it is difficult because we always have to look cast before starting date. In our grandparents ' time, same cast marriage was only allowed. For example, same caste marriage means that our ancestor has created our cast that we can know by our last names and each last name has separated into categories. Also, they can only get married to same standard people like poor people married poor people and rich marry rich people. For example; if they get married same standard people they spend the same amount of money and that will be helpful. At that time, marriages used to last than a week, including days and nights. For example, at the beginning of marriage the groom 's house to demand what they want as a dowry and at the end of the marriage bride 's house have to fill all things they said.
