Essay Question 1: Buddhism and Hinduism are major faiths that were born in India. Can History tell us why Hinduism has not spread around the world, as has Buddhism?

Hinduism and Buddhism are considered to popular forms of faith to follow throughout the world, however Hinduism primarily hasn’t spread amongst the world in the same dynamic as Buddhism. Personally, I believe this is because Hinduism is considered to be a clear cut systematic religion where as Buddhism is considered to be a way of life which is easier to adopt for the different lifestyles of people around the world. Hinduism is also the most ancient religion of existence, being born in a time where the means of communication were limited and exclusive for those in close proximity. The enlightenment Buddhism presented to the world were expressed through the four noble truths which were easier to comprehend and honestly accept, these truths were suffering is the fundamental reality of human life, is caused by the struggle to exist in an impermanent world, is created by craving and accepting expectations, and craving can be ended by following the eightfold path. The eightfold path can be applied to better the quality of anybody’s lifestyle by Right understanding, attitude, speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and meditation. The Buddhist practice is directed to be a inward reflection where no props or rituals are necessary, on the contrast Hinduism ushers in a lot of formal Rituals and complexity of Vedas which within themselves have four parts that interlock.
