I have always been intrigued by the diversity of my interests; from Eastern spiritual philosophy to the nature of the optic nerves, I have sought to learn concepts and skills from a wide variety of fields. As I continue into postsecondary education, my goal is to continue absorbing ideas and thought processes from both liberal arts and sciences and incorporate them into my foundation and methods in future clinical practice and research. The primordial foundation of clinical science, health and human biology is the degree program on which I plan to base my undergraduate education plan. Along with neuroscience, another field necessary to pursue ophthalmic science, it will form the core of my curriculum. Supplementing this undergraduate backbone will be courses in the departments of mathematics (both theoretical and applied), cognitive and psychological studies, as well as economics and commerce courses. As I proceed into the graduate portion of the PLME, my core curriculum will be centred on the clinical science and training offered by Alpert Medical School. Nonetheless, neuroscience will remain an integral part of my education plan, providing supplementary content about Visual Physiology, Neurochemistry and Behaviour, and Statistical Neuroscience. Rounding out my education plan will be courses from the fields of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Epidemiology, Health Services, and Health Leadership. With classes relating particularly to epidemiological research, as well as its interpretation and application, healthcare policy, data-driven decision making, qualitative methods in health research, economics of medical therapies, and the biology of emerging microbial diseases, these departments will complement the core curriculum, while continuing to diversify my learning spectrum and developing both my analytical and creative thought
