Each passage in the two texts shows that the civil war and world war 2 changed women's roles in America. The first passage is "Breaking Tradition" by Kathleen Ernst. The second passage is "A Family Affair " by Gina DeAngelis and Lisa Ballinger. Ernst's text does not state much information about how the civil war changed women's roles. There are only three out of ten paragraphs that state any of the information. In paragraph 8 Ernst states "other women entered new occupations." DeAngelis and Ballinger's text states more information about how women's roles changed from the war.
