Children can handle divorces in many ways, not all divorce cases lead to a negative lifestyle, some can be rewarding. There are many factors that play into how a child will react, but the negative effects will stay with the child throughout their entire life. The divorce will more than likely affect their own relationships in the future. However, the separated parents play a large role in how the child will handle themselves throughout the process. The parents can provide a positive environment or they could cause turmoil that will be lifelong issues for the child.
The main questions are; are children from divorced homes affected developmentally? Do they differ from children who have married parents? Are the typically happy or unhappy? The impacts of a divorce can change a child’s life. Children that have divorced parents are more likely to divorce in their own marriages later in life. Any arguments should be held away from the child at all costs. A child will begin to develop negative feelings towards both parents and might even feel responsible for the divorce in some cases. Seeing this negative behavior between the parents can affect the child’s own marriage later in life as well. These children are more likely to also go through a divorce and have the same issues. It is important for children to grow up around healthy, loving relationships. They might carry with them the same bad habits that the parents display if they continue to fight in front of the child. They might even develop negative feelings towards any relationships in general.
