Research Paper The topic I did is Do You Have the Muscle Energy to Do Cheerleading? The major muscles are the upper legs, which are the hips, hamstrings, quadriceps, and the gluteal. The muscle of the lower leg, which is the gastrocnemius, soleus, and the interior tibias, the core muscles which is the rectus, abdomens, oblique’s, and the spinal erectors, the upper body which is the shoulders. Each one of these muscles have a part during cheer. They all require energy and dedication to this sport. So the question is how much energy are actually put into your muscles doing cheerleading?

According to an article, cheerleaders say that if you weigh more, then you will lose more (Mccoy). If you weigh less, then you will lose less, even for the ones who are skinny and do more work than the bigger ones, the bigger ones will lose more than the skinny ones. It only takes a little effort for the ones who have more weight on them to lose weight. Cheer isn’t a sport to lose weight though, it helps with your balance and flexibility and that isn’t always a bad thing. The core muscles are found in your back, the upper body muscles are found in your chest, the upper leg muscles are found in your thigh, the lower leg muscles are found in your feet and calves.
