Andy Lee - 9D Vera Nazarian, a well-known American writer, once said, “Friends are a strange, volatile, contradictory, yet sticky phenomenon. They are made, crafted, shaped, molded, created by focused effort and intent. And yet, true friendship, once recognized, in its essence is effortless.” In my own life, I have met new people who became my friends. They often have their own distinct personalities and abilities that I admire. Similarly, people cherish various characters who are featured in different TV shows and films, often because of the same reasons why we treasure our peers. Both of us had experienced a trauma in our lives, which lead to dreadful times. Imagine being a six-year-old child, and your beloved older brother needing medical care after playing harmlessly outside. This moment in my childhood had been devastating, considering the fact that I was very young, with the feeling of suspense that was intimidating. Similarly, throughout Glenn’s existence, his friends get murdered by various villains. For example, Hershel Greene, who was the father of Glenn’s wife, was murdered by the maleficent Governor. Another way I can personally relate to him is by our attributes. Our most evident trait that we share is our intelligence. People constantly tell me that I am a genius, due to the high grades that I receive in each of my courses. Likewise, Glenn is considered wise, because of his way of thinking. Back in season one of The Walking Dead, Glenn made a plan in order to grab a bag of guns that was lying around on the street, which was surrounded by zombies. This plan had numerous escape routes, assigned roofs where they would shoot zombies from, and overall increase the survivability rate. His mental characteristics include intelligence and quick-thinking. For example, he creates multiple plans in different situations with limited time. On the other hand, his physical features include agility. As an example, Glenn quickly ran to the nearest car and was able to do it faster than the others can in his group. All of his qualities contribute to the beneficial actions that he did for his group, which is another reason why I respect Glenn. For instance, there was a fresh water supply that his group found, but there was a zombie in it. So Glenn went inside the well and put a noose on the zombie in order to pull it out for the sake of his group.
