Hotels face constant changes within the tourism industry. Hotel companies must accommodate with these changes in order to stay afloat. From personal experience working in a hotel, I have noticed the main struggles for hotels are labor, revenue, customer satisfaction, and cleanliness. The Sun and Sea Hotel struggles internally with a large number of issues of which are having the business suffer immensely. Worst of all, some of these issues are notable to the hotel visitors, which in turn results in poor customer service. The principal step, which holds the presidency over all other issues, is the business strategy. The generic corporate operational model needs to be adjusted to bring the Sun and Sea Hotel back on its feet. Since Sun and …show more content…
The ultimate goal for hotels is to sustain long-term engagement to keep strong social ties. Sun and Sea Hotel is putting out additional funds to reverse the negative word of mouth into a positive in the hopes of building repeated visitors. The hotel first needs to analyze and ensure they are catering to the right clientele. The Convention and Visitors Bureau of the Island contains recorded data of where the visitors are coming from and their purpose of travel. After determining the proper clientele, the Sun and Sea Hotel need to decide whether print, media, or both would be the best marketing effort to bring more visitors to stay at their hotel. Effective print can include well-known travel magazines. These can be purchased or published within the magazines on planes. Media marketing efforts can be as simplistic as creating a banner on websites. Both marketing efforts such as these will impact the hotel in a beneficial way with the desired clientele. An example of pronounced marketing efforts is from the Omni Hotel Company who started an Omni-channel marketing to reach customers. According to Social Times, “73 percent of respondents hope to deliver this experience through omni-channel marketing” (Morrison 1). The Sun and Sea Hotel should include as much marketing tactics as they can fit within their desired budget. This method can be a benefit for the Sun and Sea Hotel
The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau uses a multimedia approach to its marketing and media strategy when reaching its target markets. Using magazines, newspapers, interactive and digital media, television and radio, Virginia Beach hopes to accomplish two primary objectives—first, to generate awareness of Virginia Beach as a viable vacation option, and drive traffic to their website. Direct marketing efforts, like email lists, are also used to connect to potential tourists, but most importantly these lists are used as a way to speak to these prospects directly and on a more individual basis. Mass advertising on radio and television is not as successful in appealing to the specific needs and wants of market segments like direct marketing can. (Spiller, 2012, 89)
My group previously visited the Sheraton Hotel for our first interview with the front desk manager and it went very well. We decided to keep with the same hotel for our next interview, but due to a last-minute cancellation from the housekeeping manager we were not able to complete the interview. Due to this situation, I will be talking about a whole different hotel - G6 Hospitality. The name G6 Hospitality refers to the hotel brands – Motel 6 and Studio 6. I chose to G6 Hospitality because it is a well-known company that I wanted to know about more in-depth. From all my research, I have gained a lot of insight on what G6 Hospitality is all about.

Technology has created a major impact on the way in which all organizations market their products and services. With the development of the internet, companies are now able to economically market themselves on a global level. Even smaller companies that were once not able to capture international business due to the cost factor can now do just that. The Washington Plaza Hotel is no exception. The hotel industry in DC relies heavily on tourism as a major part of its client base. Many of these tourists who visit the city are of foreign nationality. It is important that the Washington Plaza Hotel targets these people when marketing the company. Not only do they target the tourist but they also target the international business travelers that come to the city on business related trips. The hotel's website, which gives detailed information about the hotel's accommodations and services, can be accessed by potential customers all over the world. In addition, the Washington Plaza Hotel has teamed up with such web-based travel services like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Etc. in order to capture more of the global market. Before the existence of the internet, the global market was not easily reachable. Technology has the greatest affect on marketing for many organizations and certainly for the Washington Plaza Hotel as well as the hospitality industry itself.
Marketing plans and decisions are affected by changes in the political environment including VAT, foreign trade policy, political stability labour law, and environmental law and trade restrictions.
The Portman hotel is one of the luxury hotels in the hotel industry. The size of the hotel is relatively small; it has only 348 rooms and 21 floors. The objective of this hotel is to bring Asian hospitality to the US. This hotel is different from other hotel because it offers the services of personal valet and also it had “ no rules for the guests”.
The hotel industry performs within a saturated market, driven by customer loyalty and competitive pricing to stand-out. This competitive nature makes it extremely important to capitalise on strengths while improving on
A second strategy that has been rejected is one concerned with the consumer awareness of SGC. Currently, SGC is only advertising to travel agencies. Coupled with segmentation, SGC’s current advertising strategy has hurt SGC in the sense that consumer awareness is considerably low. Only a small portion of the population even knows that Sea Goddess exists. SGC is only targeting those who travel frequently. They may want to target the portion of the population that wants to travel, but is unsure of where to go or what to do. In order for SGC to reach the consumer, new efforts must be made in the advertising plan. Mere travel agency recommendations are not going to be enough to keep SGC alive in the marketplace. Other vehicles are going to be necessary to spread SGC’s message about the luxuries and benefits of this extraordinary cruise. At the present time, only a small number of all travel agencies have the sufficient knowledge that it takes to make an informative sell to the consumer. It may be profitable for SGC to employ some hi...
Who is the hotel’s target market and what services do they use to attract and satisfy this market?
Environmentalism has become a great concern in all sectors of business, evidenced by the recent jump in energy prices, and empirical data provided by several different environmental and scientific agencies. The Hotel industry is no different, in fact, it would benefit greatly from the recent push for all businesses and business sectors to "Go Green." Yet, the industry has long resisted the changes, and is only recently catching up to other industries that have converted their operations to have greener strategies.

The Hotel industry has become very important in the past years due to immense traveling and growth of international business. The Hotel industry not only plays an important role in the life of people but as well as the economy of the country. I spent an hour of my day relaxing in the lobby at the Fontainebleau resort in Miami, while on vacation with my family visiting from out of state. It was my first time staying at the resort so I was eager to check it out, after seeing such great reviews on Yelp and hearing great things from friends who have been there in the past. The employees working at the resort were very welcoming, professional and willing to go above and beyond to help their guests. The check-in process was very quick due to having
