In today’s society, many companies and consumers want products from around the world in a timeframe that they feel is appropriate to accommodate their needs. FedEx has played a part to building and matching these expectations through ground-breaking activities, but also from the use of other business models. One way FedEx is emphasizing global impact is by creating Access, which is a process that allows interactions, contacts, and exchanges amongst people, businesses, and nations. Over the past few centuries, access has had a significant influence on the economy, businesses, and on people’s everyday lives. Back then consumers only had access to products that were within walking or driving distance, limiting their choices. Today, since transportation …show more content…
However in 2007, FedEx knew they had to change their approach to fuel use for two important reasons: (1) they were trying to change their position to become a good global citizen; and (2) to change their business model to displace planes frequently for refueling (FedEx, 2005). FedEx started using a fuel management program called Fuel Sense. This program consists of 40 different teams that come together to improve equipment, efficiencies and other practices in the transportation chain. According to (How FedEx’s “purple promise’ shrinks emissions and grows revenue, 2014) Fuel Sense has saved 60 million gallons of fuel ending the 2013 year, with improvements by 2020 (Clark, 2014).
FedEx plans on improving their procedures by using alternative sources to obtain about 30 percent of their jet fuel by 2030 (Clark, 2014). By using these practices and fuel conservation, they have reduced greenhouse gas emissions at the same time also increasing revenue. Businesses of all magnitudes need access to markets, information, and inputs to be viable and competitive. Their key access needs focus on a variety of points such as inputs, logistics, distribution, and marketing (FedEx,
A synthesis essay should be organized so that others can understand the sources and evaluate your comprehension of them and their presentation of specific data, themes, etc.

The main purpose of a synthesis essay is to make insightful connections. Those connections can show the relationship(s) between parts of a work or even between two or more works. It is your job to explain why those relationships are important. In order to write a successful synthesis essay, you must gather research on your chosen topic, discover meaningful connections throughout your research, and develop a unique and interesting argument or perspective.
It is said that Western civilization had been primarily male dominated and as a result as diminished the feminine. Women’s roles in society have changed drastically over the past decades. While it took much time, progress for women’s rights has blossomed. Influences in civilization have affected view points of the commonly held mores, expectations, and stereotypes which define gender.
A synthesis is a written discussion that draws on one or more sources. It follows that your ability to write syntheses depends on your ability to infer relationships among sources - essays, articles, fiction, and also nonwritten sources, such as lectures, interviews, observations. This process is nothing new for you, since you infer relationships all the time - say, between something you've read in the newspaper and something you've seen for yourself, or between the teaching styles of your favorite and least favorite instructors. In fact, if you've written research papers, you've already written syntheses. In an academic synthesis, you make explicit the relationships that you have inferred among separate sources.
Television has affected every aspect of life in society, radically changing the way individuals live and interact with the world. However, change is not always for the better, especially the influence of television on political campaigns towards presidency. Since the 1960s, presidential elections in the United States were greatly impacted by television, yet the impact has not been positive. Television allowed the public to have more access to information and gained reassurance to which candidate they chose to vote for. However, the media failed to recognize the importance of elections. Candidates became image based rather than issue based using a “celebrity system” to concern the public with subjects regarding debates (Hart and Trice). Due to “hyperfamiliarity” television turned numerous people away from being interested in debates between candidates (Hart and Trice). Although television had the ability to reach a greater number of people than it did before the Nixon/Kennedy debate, it shortened the attention span of the public, which made the overall process of elections unfair, due to the emphasis on image rather than issue.
In the captivating, mysterious, and perplexing novel Fifth Business by Robertson Davies, the role of women is not only a vital but a pivotal aspect throughout the life and psychological journey of Dunstan Ramsay. Robertson Davies is famous for under-developing female characters in general; not fully creating female characters the audience can entirely understand, discover and engage, at least not to the same degree with which he develops male characters. Although the portrayal of female characters is limited, their true purpose may be much more significant than it initially appears:
Despite the world being full of diverse people with varying accomplishments and skill sets, people oftentimes assume the qualities and traits of an individual based purely on the stereotypes set forth by society. Although these stereotypes are unavoidable, an individual can be liberated, empowered and ultimately overcome these stereotypes by obtaining an advanced education.
The Article is about the evolution of eccrine sweat glands in humans and other primates, with a focus on their use to regulate body temperature as well as when in evolution this developed. They received their information on the sweat glands of primates from other research papers that had done testing on sweat glands for different reasons. They took the information from those other papers and after compiling it together, ran it through a few statistics functions to average the data and make it more usable.
When a punch is thrown, the intended victim flinches. Whenever a threat is present, threat mitigation is soon to follow, terrorism is no exception. After a terrorist attack, officials look into why the attack was committed, and what can be done to prevent further attacks. There are many methods to counter terrorism, some obscure and quite technical. However, some passive methods are in plain sight, incorporated into daily life. Many of these methods are incorporated into the architecture around us. Architecture, over the decades, has adapted to the need of terrorism prevention and protection. Through the use design and styling, architects have managed to incorporate countermeasures into structures and complexes, while minimizing their evasiveness in daily life. As attacks happen, architects further adapt their designs for better protection.
Society Disconnected Technology is constantly around us as people have it with them all the time. Everywhere people are looking down at their phones completely oblivious to what's going on around them. It is a way for people to document every waking moment on social media and to share photos and videos to hundreds of your so called friends. Technology is supposed to be a way to connect with people all over the world and stay in touch with friends. But is it really?
In recent years, diversity has become a popular topic in today's society. Whether it is justified or not, it is prevalent because it is a main factor that influences people across the world. Diversity has effects and influences in your social groups, schools, jobs, and any where where human interaction is seen. However, this diversity can provide a well-needed insight onto a topic, or an abrupt concealment in oneself. With this, to what extent is diversity beneficial.
A diversified company has two levels of strategy: business unit (or competitive) strategy and corporate (or companywide) strategy. Competitive strategy concerns how to create competitive advantage in each of the businesses in which a company competes. Corporate strategy concerns two different questions: what businesses the corporation should be in and how the corporate office should manage the array of business units.
The FedEx delivery company, the world's most important courier service, provides a good example of how intermodal transport operates. The FedEx network is built around a single hub airport located on each continent. The American hub is located in Memphis, Tennessee, the Near East one is located in Dubai, and Subic Bay, Philippines acts as the Asian hub and, Roissy, France represent the European hub.
