Love and Education
The influences exerted on a developing child derives, socially, from the behavior exhibited by a parental figure in the child’s life such as a mother or father. An adolescent’s morals and identity are heavily influenced by the certain behaviors instilled in them. A sense of right and wrong and belonging emerges from their role models and the certain expectations and values bestowed upon them. Early social concepts are observed and learned from parents. How Huxley presents the children and the missing parentals in Brave New World could be a realistic possibility in the future. Modern day morals and values rapidly change through generations- parenting has changed dramatically. Careers have put many parents ' personal lives on holt, limiting their availability to their children. Not only are they spending more time away from their children, they are also expecting schools, daycares, and nannies to make up for the lost attention and time the child had never received from them. It is practical to suspect the absence of parents as a steady and progressive pattern for the future. Ultimately, parenting itself has the potential to be a foreign concept. Within the next few years their valuable time will be completely substituted by educational programs and schooling. Children will no longer need structure or a sense of security from a mother or father because schools are able to provide that for them. Advanced schools as well as technology, will conquer love and affection and those basic necessities will be terminated and forgotten. If all children are taught the same structural ideals and values in school, without parental interference to taint their learning, the future would have a more uniformed society. Everyone would learn and absorb the same knowledge. Huxley demonstrates uniformity and social structure through the conditioned children of The World States.
