Bilingual education should be taught in schools. Many people believe that Bilingual Education is too expensive. Some parents think that if they get their child into a school that provides them with Bilingual Education, it will cost them a life time. Even though it may be expensive at times, being bilingual has lots of great benefits for children. If children get Bilingual Education, parents and everyone else will see the benefits themselves, and will also see better improvements in academic achievement. Some benefits are: flexible thinking, easier time learning a third language, and more opportunities. “Bilinguals who do not know one of their languages well sometimes report that they get tired and frustrated having to use it (speaking or writing) and that they invariably make mistakes when doing so.”(Grosjean 102). To put it another way, some people believe that children will often forget the other language and will not learn neither. When it comes to learning a language, it is never too early to learn. In my opinion, I know that Bilingual Education is not a disadvantage. Since I am a bilingual, I noticed that learning English was way easier for me, as my second language. Spanish was my first language, and I learned my second language very well. Anyone familiar with Bilingual Education should see that learning a second language becomes easier to learn, especially when you are a child. I agree that Bilingual Education helps children. An example would be my little brother. His first language was Spanish, since both my parents would talk to him in Spanish. My sister and I spoke to him in English and so did the school he attends.
