Recommended: 1984 controlled society

In "Why I Write” Orwell said: "Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it." If I could choose to live in a false world of beauty, then I would rather not. The book"1984" written by Orwell is not about year, it is a community, a life, a society with oppressive, no freedom, even no personal thinking. “1984” discusses the Utopia society is building up by lies, no trust, and full with panic and afraid, so this society will collapse eventually. This book shows us the effect of black terror. We can change the future, and possible to tamper today, but we cannot change history. However “1984” tells us," who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past." History is unchangeable, but the memories of people can be confuse, so the Ministry of Truth lied to the people’s memories, they changed all books, newspapers, and the glorious achievements of "Big Brother" was a constantly ahead, and involved accomplishment in broader areas, including all inventions, such as aircraft. The methods of "English Socialism" completed was changed all of the planned economy, which was lying to the people. While the planned of economic had been substandard, the economy situation could not be changed, then they changed the plans, which is tinkered the numbers of budgets, newspapers, and archives coming from a few years age and reused them, used that to achieve "excess." No one will question, because people all have double thoughts. For example, after Sam "evaporated", people would be as normal as he never appeared in this world, which was he did not exist at all! People's histories had been tampered, and the only thing left to the people was only the rulers’ need. The power writing history rested in the winner’s hand, our ruling party experienced hardships to win the revolution, so they had the power to write history, and they could write everything they want. In order to educate the people, they even could rewrite the history, deleted the history, and this was a matter of course, we only can obey. What is the successful lie, which is making you begin to doubt the truth. The party can announce that two plus two equals five, you have to believe it. The terrible thing is not they will kill you if you do not believe them, but the frightening thing is that they may be right. After all, how do we know that two plus two equals four it? If you are big brother, what will you do?

    The point Orwell is trying to get across is that this mistreatment of the working class is not tolerable and must be disbanded (121). His solution to the problem is Socialism. He wants to show that a Socialist society can be implemented globally and benefit especially the lower classes. The problem he faces is that Socialism is quickly being phased out of the conversation and being replaced by the likes of Fascism (171). He is convinced that a Socialist movement is inevitable and a “historic necessity” (172). One problem he addresses is the correlation in the minds of the people to Socialism and Communism (175). While Communism is about control over the people, states Socialism is about justice, liberty, and receiving better wages for fewer hours while having no one bossing you around (176). Orwell even goes to the extent of saying that Fascism is a product of Communism (187). The biggest point Orwell attempts to give in my opinion is that there is no way the ideals he seeks (mentioned before as justice, liberty, etc.) cannot be achieved without a Socialist movements he calls “progress” (214).
