My topic is baking, and what I’m going to be talking about within my topic is why I like to do it. The first time I started baking was when I was very little, and I think most of us have at some point in our life had baked something weather it be with an Easy Bake Oven or some elegant dessert. The reason I like to bake is because for me it’s stress relieving because when I bake I don’t think of anything else, except for what I'm doing right then and there. I would suggest this to others because I think it's something way to just have fun and experiment with what skills you have, even if you think you’re not good at it, I think it would be something fun to do. Some of my favorite things to bake are cupcakes, cookies and a really amazing chocolate

If we zoom back to that time two years ago, I was a 14 year old foreign exchange student in southern Germany. Bullying from the kids in school had made my homesickness unbearable. But that’s not all. I eventually became so anxious throughout my exchange that I chewed all the skin around my nails, gained 15 pounds, and finally, had to book my flight back home January 1st.

Today is the day! The vacation that has been plastered on the calendar, programmed to remind you every day on your phone, and put on a countdown app is now finally here. After a week of preparation, you are all ready to head to the airport. Upon arriving into the airport, you notice the ticket counter is eerily empty. It is your turn to check in and the customer service agent asks where you are going to which you respond Ft. Lauderdale. The agent informs you that the flight to Ft. Lauderdale have been canceled from your airport; and the next available direct flight is not until the middle of next week. That definitely does not work for you so you ask is there another way to get there, maybe thru a connection? The only way to get there today is by flying all the way up to Boston which is two hours in the wrong direction just to fly past where you started to get to your destination. So, this now 4-hour trip has turned into an all-day affair. Not wanting to waste any more time you take the Boston option vowing never to fly JetBlue again.

Introduction I want you all to ask yourselves how far you’re willing to go to be the best at the thing you do most. For some people, the choice they must make is going to be a very big one with very real side effects. I’m sure many of you watch professional sports and the Olympics. I’m a very big fan of sports and I researched this topic because I find it incredibly interesting how far these athletes are willing to go to be the best at their craft. Back then cheesecake was so cherished that it was served to athletes in the first olympics in 766 BC because it was a source of good energy. I don’t know about you but sign me up! And I don’t even like running but I would gladly fall on my face multiple times for cheesecake. “Fasting is an effective and safe method of helping the body detoxify itself.” Quote by: James F. Balch, and Phyllis A. Balch. When you begin fasting, toxins are created in your body, mostly because of food and water. During your fast your body is provided resting time, most importantly, it gives your organs a rest which could potentially prolong your life. To prepare yourself for a fast you should try to eat mostly fruits, and vegetables. Intermittent fasting means fasting for certain hours of a day. While periodic fasting is when you fast for three days or longer for two or more weeks. The description of hunger is when your bodies respond to lack of food, then your body begins searching for food. If you get hungry during your fast it’s advised that you eat watermelon (if you absolutely need it), drink lemon juice or coffee. While giving organs rest and creating longevity, fasting is a controlled medical regimen.
The topic that I choose is mental health education for teenagers in school. Mental health is a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being. In schools we have classes focusing upon the physical and educational well-being of students but has ignored the mental well-being. The lack of mental health education results in people not knowing how to properly interact with mental illness both in others and with themselves. Not only is the knowledge of how to deal with mental illness an issue but the stigmatization that has derived from the lack of understanding creates a negative environment in confronting these illnesses.
Being a member of the family and a part of the bakery, I learned a lot, especially about baking skills. My baking skills are not as good as Cake Boss, but they are enough for me to make something by myself and share with friends. Back then, when I was just a little girl with two braids, I could not really help with anything besides assisting my mom or my aunt during baking time or singing and telling jokes to help reduce the stress of the working environment. Even though I did not do anything much, I still had an opportunity to learn a great deal of secret skills and steps to produce baked goods that satisfied even the strictest customer. My skills were improved as time passed by. I started helping measure the ingredients; the job may sound easy, but it indeed important and crucial to the procedure of baking goods. It is more than putting this and that ingredient on the scale, the measurements must be extremely accurate otherwise the product would become unqualified.
