Vietnam, a country located in south eastern asia with a motto “ Independence, Freedom, and Happiness”. However, not everyone will agree with that statement of course, especially in the United States. What makes History interesting is that no matter what the topic is, such as whether it’s about the history of a machine, or the history about an event that happened during a specific time period, it’s always a little bit different due to historians having different opinions. That then leads to the subject of different theories, such as papers that ask “What if…”. Now, why would some people in America disagree with Vietnam’s motto? Well, from the late 1960’s up to the early 1970s, America and Vietnam were at war with each other over the topic of freedom. Infact, America’s involvement in The Vietnam War subsided in 1973, 2 years before the actual war was over. So that begs the question; Could America actually avoid the Vietnam War?

That’s over 12,500,000 in today’s terms. The Vietnam War is considered the most expensive war during the cold war era, and it was definitely devastating for both struggling soldiers and the very few vietnam supporters when the war was lost. Another downside to the war itself was America’s relationship with Vietnam. Many photos, television programs, and books will tell you how sour Vietnam’s relationship is with America, and many relics and surviving soldiers are prime examples to why both sides hate each other.
