This of course seemed like a great opportunity to me because I feel that as someone who desires to teach others I also should desire to take a backset and learn things. I’ve used to term “life-long learner” to describe myself at numerous occasions, and I felt that going to grad school just gave me a better chance to prove that descriptor to be true. I’ve already gone to great lengths in my undergraduate career to get as much experience in this field as is possible. I’ve thrown myself into every school publication that is associated with the English department, I became President of the school’s literary society, and I also became a tutor and a TA. For me, going to graduate school is another step in this continuous cycle of reaffirming my passion and actualizing
As a person who struggled for years to thrive in school, I realized after receiving Dean's list honors my freshman year, that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Now I am going to help others accomplish many things they set their minds to, through occupational therapy. I developed a strong interest in occupational therapy (O.T.) after volunteering with different people. A dream of mine has always been to be the first in my family to go to college and receive a degree.
Dancing has been a passion with me for a long time. My mother tells me how any melody had me dancing when I was a toddler. On growing up I tried learning some serious dancing and after trying both Bharat Natyam and Kathak, I decided to pursue Kathak seriously. So, I have been learning Kathak for more than a year now. My Guruji teaches me twice a week about the steps, taals and abhinaya of Kathak.
Ever since junior high, I have been in the advanced classes, and I hope that will help me with my plan to graduate as one of the top of my class. The National Honor Society would be a great experience for me to get to know my fellow schoolmates better. There aren’t many extracurricular activities within my high school, but in junio... ... middle of paper ... ...te and have very good communication skills. Each and every day I greet and/or compliment a different person with a smile just in case they’ve been having a bad day or haven’t heard anything positive in a while. I just always try to maintain a positive character and a healthy relationship with everyone.
My education and the knowledge that follows it will become the basis to my future as an adult. The decision to choose a career path and begin to build your future is a crucial moment in every young adults life. After twelve years of school and studying, it is assumed that the time allotted would be plenty for me to choose which career is right. Based on clusters of enjoyable classes and keen skills developed, as a student, I thought I would be able to imagine what major I would like to pursue, but to my surprise I'm more confused than ever when it comes to my future career. In my time spent in school, I enjoyed various types of classes unrelated to one another.
All the previous aspects mentioned are the ones that the majority of parents would expect from their children to do at University. But after this little reflection of happiness I came to the conclusion of how I will like my life to be in the next twenty years. I will explain as detail as possible how I will like my life to be going from the actual situation to the end of my life. Once I graduate I will like to study a master. Starting back when I was in high school I used to think to myself that it would be fun to become a teacher, at the high school level. What I really wanted to do was become a P.E. teacher and play sports all day. But after discussing the idea with my advisor in both high school and college I decided to go into a field that would give me the option of teaching or going into the specific industry of business, so that is what I decided to do. To prepare myself for the high school level I have substitute taught during the summer and Christmas breaks at Woodbridge High School in Northern Virginia, this experience seemed to get me more excited about my future career.
I know that there are people with higher averages than me, but I still am determined to do well in school and life as well. Whenever I put my mind to something, I will complete or accomplish what it is I am working towards. Another thing adding towards my academic success is I have not had a single after school detention or suspension in my entire life and I don't engage in things that could possibly get me in trouble. I have been in chorus and dance almost my entire life, singing and dancing are my passions and ever since I was young I have loved these activities and participated in events involving this. I've taken dance since I was four years old and still am now.
I have always been intrigued by the field of science and that is the reason I pursued the field of Biochemistry for my undergraduate studies. How The Human body works and the different determinants that can affect one's health or a community as a whole have always been captivating to me. I wanted to emerge in a profession that is beneficial for me, my community, and the world I live in. I came to realize through various science courses and health care experiences that a career in health care was the best path for me to outreach my community and the world. Public Health is the most important aspect of medicine.
Quality of teaching and delivering the subject is therefore one of the most important factors that will help students to decide. Through attending numerous guest lectures (hosted by the universities that I have worked for as well as conferences) I can relate to students attending lectures where even the most interesting topic can be turned into an irritating experience if it is not delivered properly. Therefore, I always make sure to deliver a clear message, use visual aids to present my message, engag... ... middle of paper ... ...etween Canada and various European countries. I have helped them preparing documents for such funding opportunities and provided recommendation letters when required. Several students asked if they should pursue science careers or use science background and look for alternate career.
