Although the first powered flight was seen in 1903, the first flight in Australia occurred in March 1910, initiating aviation in Australia. Almost a decade on, regulations on airspace and flight were first seen with Australia signing the International Convention relating to Air Navigation. Soon later, the Civil Aviation Branch was created, becoming the Department of Civil Aviation in 1938. This department dealt with Aviation legislation, flying operations and engineering practices. Later on, in 1988, the Civil Aviation Act 1988 was introduced, establishing the now Civil Aviation Authority as a statutory authority. Seven years later, an amendment …show more content…

The type design is the design of a particular mode of aircraft, and is validated by what is called a “type certificate”. The issuing of a type certificate signifies the required airworthiness of a particular aircraft design, and is required before the first of type CoA can be issued.

As the Type Certificate certifies a particular aircraft design, it thus follows that once given, no further design changes can be made, as it would make such certification obsolete.
