Thesis Statement:

The home to the largest sand island in the world is Australia.

Land

Australia is both the flattest continent and, except for Antarctica, the driest.Seen from the air, its vast plains, sometimes the color of dried blood more often tawny like a lion's skin, may seem to be a huge desert.The Australian heritage commission Act of 1975 established a federal agency to develop interest in a national Estate of listed places, such places would be selected mainly on the basis of aesthetic, historical, scientific, or social significance. On November 15, 2017 the government passed a law that same sex marriage was legal.

Ethnic Groups Today the population of Australia consists of more than 270 ethnic groups.Until the mid-20th century, however, Australian society was, with some accuracy, regarded in the wider world as essentially British- or at any rate Anglo-Celtic.As seen on the chart below 90.2% of Australians are white or other 7.3% are Asian and 2.5%are aboriginal.

Food

Chiko roll which is a snack inspired by the famous Chinese spring roll which is also called a chicken roll despite not actually containing chicken.

Lamington which is an Australian cake, made from squares of sponge cake coated in an outer layer of chocolate sauce and rolled in desiccated coconut.

Vegemite which is a thick black food spread made from leftover brewers’ yeast extract with various vegetable and spice additives. Made in 1922.

Australian Damper which is like a type of butter bread with sprinkled sugar on top.

History Australians are believed to have first arrived on the Australian mainland by sea from Maritime Southeast Asia between 40,000 and 70,000 years ago.
