Aliens: The Ancient Visitors and Gods“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” -Arthur C. Clark. The long-standing writer has a point. Whether man is alone in this universe is irrelevant when both options are so extreme. The probability however lies far in favor of man not being the exclusive intelligent being in the universe. The proposition is troubling to man’s notions of religion, reality, and security; however, it must be addressed. Aliens have visited this planet before and the evidence can be found in several locations throughout the globe. The television program created by National Geographic entitled Ancient Aliens contains several examples of potential alien visitation. The idea of the ancient astronaut theory is that in ancient times, extraterrestrials visited earth and helped to forward the advancement of civilization. The gods that ancient civilizations seem to share around the world are a product of misunderstanding of man of extraterrestrial technology. Once again this gives validity to myths and religious texts around the world. The documentary series also brings to light the possibility of aliens procreating with humans. The particular case that they discuss in depth is the case of the first queen of Egypt, Hatshepsut. The legend goes that Hatshepsut was descended from divine beings. The God who gave her life did so with his divine ankh. This immaculate conception of Hatshepsut suggests that the extraterrestrials had the technology to manipulate DNA and control the genome of the human population. The concept of alien intervention is present in several theories of ancient development from the pyramids to the birth of Jesus
